Hello Boys,
I can't believe they killed off Babe. What were they thinking? I'm not having it, at all. How will they recover from killing off a beloved character?

Dixie was beloved. Babe is SHIT.

Thank God. She should've been the first one they offed.

After 20 years of faithfully watching the show, I've stopped watching after they killed off Dixie. I can't believe they brought her back for a year only to kill her.

The entire writing team and the exec producer should be fired. They've completely destroyed a once beloved and highly rated show.

I have something to say on this. Personally, I don't consider Babe to be a "beloved" character. And I am tired of the show being centered around her character. Also, I seriously hate the fact that All My Children is trying to pass her off as some sort of saint. This is a woman who lied more times than I can count, cheated on her husband twice, and kidnapped a baby two times. I don't find anything appealing about Babe and wouldn't mind if she left the canvas. Sadly, Babe is going to survive her attack. But there's word that the actress Alexa Havins and her husband Justin Bruening (Jamie) want to relocate to California. So it's possible Babe could be leaving anyway.
 
AMC is getting on my nerves as of late, but it's like crack to me. I knowthe current story lines have been atrocious, but I cant pull myself away from it. I didnt know people hated Babe so much. I'm still pissed at her for stealing Miranda from Bianca, but I like her presence on the show cause she's such a polarizing character. Babe is a moron most of the time, yet I didnt want the girl to 'die'.

I like 'Josh', he's cute sometimes.
 
I hear that Alexa (Babe) and her husband want to try there luck in Hollywood but sometimes it works (Sarah Michelle Gellar, Josh Dhumel) and sometimes it doesn't ( Bianca, Greenlee). Babe's character has done some horrible things but because she is such a "front burner' storyline you can't help but like her. I hope her death is just a stunt and that it doesn't last forever.

That youtube clip was kinda disturbing. It's only TV....it's not that serious. With her back story, I can see why she's hated., but I like the actress that plays her.
 
I didn't know about this little storyline wrinkle but it makes sense. I read Soap Opera Digest, ABC Soaps In Depth, Soap Opera Weekly, etc. and there has been no mention at all of Alexa Havins leaving the show.

Her name is even up for Outstanding Supporting Actress for "All My Children" on the Pre-nominees ballot. So I was stunned to see her "die" on the show today.

But of course, this little spoiler makes sense.

And I have to side with the non-Babe fans in here.

Brian Frons, recognizing the immense appeal of Britney Spears in 2002, cast the young Spears lookalike for the show and was hoping Havins would do for the soap world what Spears was doing for record sales.

Unfortunately both Spears and the state of "AMC" are an absolute mess as we approach the end of this decade.

I have to say that on today's episode The scene between Josh and Erica was excellent! I really felt Josh's pain as Erica cradled him in her arms as if to compfort him. Some of the best acting I have seen on AMC. By the way, I saw Josh in a Sci-fi movie where he played a martial artist. He spent a lot of the movie without a shirt on and he can fight. He has a beautiful body. UMMMM... i hope he doesn't leave the show.

Cady McClain was very, very vocal about AMC firing Julia Barr the way they did... and poof, she's dead. I'll bump her latest blog entry.

I know my soaps, believe me. I know all of this.

A BELOVED "All My Children" actress is told that she can either agree to one or two episodes per year, or quit. What a choice.

It's called self respect. It's called taking a stand. They knew she was fed up with the way they were treating her, and they knew that if they lowered her to a few episodes per year, she would decline. That was the show's way of getting what they wanted without getting the blame for it. Why do you think all the actors and fans are so upset with the SHOW?

Not only that, but they didn't even give her a farewell. No "goodbye" scene, no montage of flashbacks... nothing. She just disappeared. One minute she was there, the next minute she was gone, like she never existed. That's not the way you treat one of the show's most beloved actresses and characters. It's called CLOSURE. They denied her and the fans of that, as well.

Shame on AMC. ABC Daytime as a whole is going to hell in a handbasket with Brian Frons' micromanagement and hatred of vets. Then there's NBC Daytime, which is down to only one soap (Days) once Passions is gone, and they've announced plans to cancel it shortly, as well. And Days isn't even as low rated as most... demographics are great! NBC just wants to be a 'news' network during the day, which is why they'll probably break contract with Days this year as they're dying to do. Soaps are dying because of the IDIOTS in charge.

I got the feeling babe's death was a fake but who knows?Is the actress leaving the show or has it come out she has left the show? I was hoping they would off Kendal! She has turned into a unlikeable character.JR is an ass! All that she's faking shit was bad acting. And the whole Josh thing with let me watch as they put a pace maker in was over the top and very creepy stalkerish. The show has gotten very odd. Like I have wrote before I'll still watch since soap net is always on while I'm at wk. But does anyone else think Aiden is the satin slayer? Someone wrote that on one off the other threads and I can see it. He was missing when tad,zach,ryan were hiding out waiting for the killer. they said aiden was watching outside the warehouse but the veiwer never sees him outside. Than at the hospital he asked if zoe saw the killer's face? He looks guilty if you watch all the subtle things he is doing. But why would he hate zach so much?
 
I'm going to try answering what I know.

The reason why soap magazines aren't reporting on Alexa Havins leaving AMC is because it's still a rumor. Someone said she looked like Britney. I always thought she resembled Jessica Simpson. lol

About Julia Barr, I don't blame her for quitting. They were about to make her a recurring character. Meaning she would get less airtime and a less money.

According to an interview by someone at ABC, Dixie was killed off for storyline reasons. The murders of Simone and Erin were a result of the actresses quitting the show. Killing off Dixie was meant to catch us off guard. And let us know that anyone could be next, regardless of their contract status. Honestly, I think they're full of shit with that comment. Could you see them killing off someone like Erica Kane? I think not.

I don't think Aidan is the killer. Whoever is committing the murders has it in for Zach. And Aidan has no motive. Also, the actor recently signed a new contract with the show. So I doubt it's him. But then again, the show wants to "catch us off guard".

Yeah, I know. I have no life. lol. But I hope I was able to help out.
 
I doubt it. I think La Lucci would get a month long tribute if she ever departed. With a parade and everything. I have to say, if I knew you guys were into soaps, I would've joined this forum a lot sooner.
 
soap net is now showing previews with dixie and babe with the heading that one of them is still alive.

I have no problem with Alexa... I just hate Babe Carey. She's been a cancer to this show ever since she debuted by cheating on JR with his brother her first night in town... and then stealing Bianca's baby... and then kidnapping her own baby and letting JR think the baby drowned in the staged helicopter crash... and then cheating on JR again...

The show's trying sooooo hard to give her all these front burner storylines, but ruin her character in order to do it. None of the things "just happen" to Babe. Babe pushes people to the edge, they snap, and she plays victim.
