Alternative to ice cream, I want something cold, as this warmer comes upon us. I don't like ice cream, or even frozen yogurt, and I will not eat those frozen sugar pops!

I guess it's beer again, Hmmmm IPA's.

IPAs are my latest obsession.

Dogfish Head's 90 Minute IPA and Flying Dog's Snake Dog IPA are my personal favorites.

...ok, now explain what THAT is.

An IPA is a type of beer originally brewed in England for the trip around the horn of Africa to India when India was an English colony. IPAs have a distinct hoppy character because it was discovered that hops help to keep beer from going bad, and so they were used in brewing the beer for this trip. Nowadays, hops are used to give flavor and aroma to many different types of beer, but IPAs tend to have more hops than most other kinds of beers.

It took me a while to really appreciate the depth of flavor in some IPAs, but I love them (and most heavy, intense beers) now.

I'm so glad this thread was a great toss up between ice treats and ice cold beer.

Oddly, enough, you guys, my last two beers where Ambers, my new obsession :)!!!

Beer for everyone!!!

I just picked up some Victory Hop Wallop and Dogfish Head's Indian Brown Ale. I've never had the Hop Wallop, but the IBA is one of my faves.
