Where's the outrage?

http://blogs.alternet.org/speakeasy/author/chaunceydevega/

Herman Cain is running for President in 2012 as a Republican.

He was called a "monkey" and more racial names on the website www.alternet.org.

Oh yeah .... Cain is a black man.

According to the site, he's not allowed to be a conservative or a Republican.

Frankly, if you read the article, you'll be embarrassed for the man who wrote this and for the website who published his racial attack.

If the author and website are examples of progressive liberal thought, news, and ideas ... I want no part of them.

BTW . . . . the author of the article, Chauncey DeVega, is a black man too.

I think you'll hear more about Herman Cain in the next 2 years.

Herman Cain isn't going anywhere. That's not debatable.

Also, please don't act like you are just a curious soul crushed by the fact that some liberal blogger used naughty language. You are a conservative, and are trying to make a faulty argument.

Even if Chauncey de Vega is racist, which is rather humorous because he's black himself, that doesn't mean that liberal thought is inherently racist. A similar argument I could make is "Glenn Beck thinks George Soros, a Jew, is a Nazi. Glenn Beck is a conservative. Therefore, all conservatives think George Soros is a Nazi." They make equivalent amounts of sense... like none.

Also, attribute this to Chauncey de Vega, not AlterNet.

lol

Monkey

A black guy called another black guy a name. I have never gotten that and I never will. I guess Nigga is protected as something acceptable even fun between two black guys.....

but MONKEY?

man that goes over the top

Chauncey DeVega (pseudonym) is editor and founder of the blog We Are Respectable Negroes.

See link below for AlterNet Editor’s Note and the blogger’s response to his critics.

So, Opinterph, so the thinking is that American black man in 2011 cannot be a conservative?

He is still a slave to the liberal Democrat politicians -- they have and will continue to know what's best for the black man.

I really didn't expect much more than that from my thread.

Don't look now, but a black Democrat is president. If being a 'slave' means you get to be leader of the free world, sign my white ass up.

So Springer.

My outrage over this is parked right next to where yours was when teabaggers called Obama a monkey.

Jack Springer,

It is not my place to address “the thinking” in this incident. More specifically, I am left wondering if the work of this “mystery blogger” is significant enough for me to invest my time to try and understand.

One thing I dislike about AlterNet is the blur it introduces between what is credible and that which may be misleading. What is original and what is replicated? Jubbers should perform their own due diligence before quoting from AlterNet or any other external source.

Park more outrage on the 40 years that liberals have been abusing minorities and destroying the black nuclear family.

and since you are a republican thats code words for .... you people gave them too much money and made all the black people immoral and lazy.

please

I want to hear all about this republican party racial diversity.

Park more outrage on the 40 years that liberals have been abusing minorities and destroying the black nuclear family.

And of course, Republicians have been leading the charge for civil rights...

What a fucked up and wrong response.

No, it's actually pretty typical conservative thought to claim that welfare has been a net negative for poor families than a positive. Rarely any proof in the form of numbers is ever given, and they typically disregard things like redlining and white flight, which contributed greatly to the decline of American cities in the 60s and 70s.

..... you people gave them too much money and made all the black people immoral and lazy.

Actually they've kept them dependent on the largesse of the government and in poverty is more correct if we're using generalizations today.

Maybe we'll just wrap this thread up. It's wrong to call any human a monkey. And we should all speak up when anybody does.

Thread closed.
