Am I alone with my hair?

I didn't really know where to post this so please move it if it's in the wrong place!

I was just wondering really - am I the only gay man in the world with dreadlocks??

My hair says a lot about my personality and I am starting to believe as though I am the only gay hippy out there and will never find someone who will be interested in me!

So! Come on guys - let me know I'm not alone.

I know a couple of gay men with dreadlocks.. I guess it depends where you live.

There are plenty of young gay hippies/alternative people around. Look into radical faeries if you're having trouble finding like minded people.

no you are not. i have seen a couple of gays with dreadlocks. but you won't find them in the usual gay clubs, since as you said: hair says a lot about personality.

Thanks guys. I love my dreads too but they are a bit on the scruffy side! I am just growing them out long enough so I can tie them up and out of the way without a headband. Yay

I love dreads, but as an Asian with ridiculously straight hair, it doesn't hold up well. But I do know some gay guys with dreads. believe me, there is nothing that one gay man has or does that some other gay man hasn't done or had.

I disagree. I know an Asian man who actually had dreads which eventually formed into essentially 5 large dreads and he was one very good looking man despite how unusual it sounds.

I didn't mean in general. I mean mine is too straight to hold anything. I know, I've tried. But others have hair better suited to dreads (or any other kind of form) and I envy them terribly.

It's pretty hard to have dreads if you don't keep them clean - if your hair gets greasy the knots come out!

I hate it when people ask me, "Do you wash your hair then?" In my head I'm screaming, "Do you wash yours?! How dare you suggest that I don't!!!" whilst on the outside I answer them in a very controlled manner wearing a smile that says 'I hate you.'

right on kiltlover!!!If you don't wash and take care of your hair it becomes dry and becomes one hot mess.If you look at people with dreads you see two different ways of wearing them.1, totally natural aka rasta the other is more groomed.Some people look really hot with their dreads all natural its very tree hugging nature child.

Mine are pretty un-groomed. After 2 years they are tightening up pretty nicely and many of them do look smooth and even but the others are pretty lumpy and there are more than a few hairs that just won't co-operate!!! F-ing rebels, honestly...

heyy, I know a couple people who go to warren wilson! sounds like a great school with great people. they're also self sufficient when it comes to food, and have a completely vegan cafeteria! (as well as non vegan food)
