It looks as much as an ipod as the whole trident looks like a Calder, and on Sikking's lap is resting a toilet brush.
 
There's an ape's face on Mars if you know what an ape face looks like and your brain interprets the image as that.

Same thing.

You know what an iPod looks like, so you interpret a graphic of basic geometric shapes as an iPod, but it wasn't even an unlikely graphic to create at the time, as it was composed of basic geometric shapes, just as an iPod was/is.
