Am I The Only Gay Guy Who Isn't Attracted To Muscular Men?

I prefer guys who are average or even more towards the skinny end of the spectrum.

Toned bodies are cool, but I don't like muscular guys - for example the kind you find in firemen calendars and stuff like that.

You're not alone by any means in not being attracted to muscular guys - however, the marketing and advertising execs don't seem to realise there's more than one body type gay men find attractive. The haven't grasped the idea that we're attracted to men because they're male, not because they're muscular and/or some kind of stereotype.

I'll join you in this! :D

I like my guy with a small belly because I love rubbing their belly.

Hey Thynight,

Cheers for that little tip - I've only just now realised that people can leave comments on posts and that they're on the profile settings page. I agree with what you wrote too!

Sorry to anybody who's commented on my posts in the past - I've literally only just seen them now...that includes one from somebody from way back in 2007 !oops!

Not into muscular guys at all. I like the healthy, lean look. Like you get when you eat right and do a little sport.

I've noticed that most male models, strippers and porn stars marketed to gay men look like they've spent a year bodybuilding before they began performing, and I know that most of the guys here - regardless of their body type - post some very muscular men in the "Post men you find hot" threads.

Am I the only gay guy who really isn't turned on by that body type?

I mean, sure. . .a toned guy definitely doesn't look bad, but six pack abs just do nothing for me. I prefer seeing a more average guy with his shirt off, personally. . .and I feel alone in this whenever i'm dealing with the gay scene.

So. . .let me know.

I'm bi... But the men I prefer are twinkish 18-25 yr old young looking men. I don't care for the muscular types, I like the slightly effeminate types.

Some muscle is ok...but im really more attracted to my own type (skinny/lean).

More they look like a body builder, the more im inclined to think they're overcompensating for a certain *other* deficiency.

I can tell you this much...Making Love to a Muscular Fucker is different..The "tightness" of the body doesnt even seem real...And when they lift you up its "surprising"...

"Attraction" is "attraction" and I find myself being attracted to people I wouldnt normally find attractive...

I love muscle men.I love shaved men.Muscle men are beautiful.

Lots of men says that muscle men are full of themselves, muscle men are narcissistic,if their cock would be big enough, muscle men would fuck themselves, muscle men are only into the look,ect...

Men are obviously jealous of muscle men.

Muscle men represents the beauty standard of gay men.It always been like that and always will.

Why do you think so much gay men goes to the gym?

Lots of gay men likes muscle men.Because muscle men are masculine and they are good looking.

Years ago the muscle guy was in vogue, today it's more the swimmer's build that is popular. In general.
I'll post a comment here, as a woman. Many women also do not like an overly muscular build in guys. I think many of the body builder types do it to impress each other, like competition in their chosen sport. But, sexually, the "action figure" type of build does nothing for me.
I like feminine type guys anyway.

I like feminine type guys anyway.

I swear I must be the only guy to find them more attractive than masculine guys.

And I don't really like the overly muscular look. Nothing wrong with being toned or 6 pack, but big beefy muscles is not that good looking in my opinion.

Those "muscle men" pics posted are revolting. I don't want to fuck a slab of beef. Give me a nice skinny or toned smooth twink over that any day. Being fit or in shape or toned is one thing, bulging is another.

I find chiseled abs to be disgusting. They look like alien babies. They'd probably spend more time doing crunches than having sex with me. Boooo.

Not to mention all these unfortunate bodybuilders shave off all their beautiful body hair. Unnaturally large muscles with unnatural smoothness? Strikes me as someone who is not comfortable with themselves and has to put way too much effort into this gross bodybuilder image of beauty we have going for men in today's world.

No problem with muscles here. The only limits I would have on size would be if it turns into a health problem...I'd draw the line at bigorexia, where it goes from being self-discipline into loss-of-self-control and massive cover-up of self esteem issues. I don't do too well in the romance department with guys who lack self esteem. But a big ripped bulging veiny guy who's even a bit cocky about it is totally fine by me as long as I would otherwise find him attractive.

Same deal with skinny guys or sturdy guys etc. My head has turned for a lot of different shapes and sizes.

I'm mostly attracted to little, short, skinny guys; in fact I tend to find over-developed musculature to be slightly repellent ...especially the artificial-looking, pumped-up, gym-bunny, muscle-mary variety

I can't believe all the derogatory terms used to describe muscular men. The models you see in magazines, some porn, and on-stage at bodybuilding shows aren't what these guys look like the vast majority of the time. Most of them aren't doing it to make an impression on other people. They do it because they like how they look like with some more muscle.

I disagree with steroid use to get larger though. The guys that do that (which are a lot of the ones you see in porn) are generally the insecure guys. Some of us play sports and go to the gym because we truly enjoy it. It's not a chore.

It's funny that you wrote that. I usually don't tell people to check their comments, but I had a feeling I should tell you.:D

I took me a couple of months to realize this board had comments, but now i'm addicted to them.

I've been skinny all of my life, and most big muscular guys will
assume I'm the bottom.

Exactly. It's always "I can throw you around", and i'm just not into being dominated. In fact, i'm pretty sure i'm more of a versatile top, if anything.

I'm in agreement with the OP to some extent, though. If there's one body type that'll turn me off at all, it's the excessively muscular/ripped look.

I generally don't like extremes of ANY body type, to be honest. If you're VERY muscular, VERY skinny or VERY fat, that's not attractive or healthy to me. . .but if you're thin, have a few extra pounds or have a toned physique, that's completely fine to me.

It's all about being healthy and not going to extremes for me, I guess.

"Attraction" is "attraction" and I find myself being attracted to people I wouldnt normally find attractive...

Agreed. I've never really liked blue eyes, for example but I fell in love-at-first-sight with a guy with blue eyes and dark hair.

Well Nomenclature, if you like, I am a muscular man who is attracted to you. So here is the deal. Give me a two weeks trial, and I will convert you, and who knows once you start going to the gym yourself you will join the dance line.

Depends on how good you are with your hips, mister. :gogirl:
