He's been around for almost 20 years. Nobody has heard of him until now.

Once this craze is over, he will go back to relative obscurity.

Heard about it last week. Just watched the song for the first time today. That live concert video is more or less unwatchable if you want to grasp the song.

It is an attempt to recapture the campy goodness of 1980's Falco, without the talent. Gagnam does have a catchy hook floating around in all that schmaltz. But I can't help having the impression it is probably just a sample from someone else's song that I like better. Someone with talent. Like when Vanilla Ice sampled Queen.

It gets a D- for answering a pointless musical question that no one actually asked. And we all get an F for listening.

I didnt know about it for a while, turned it on and never finished watching the video or listening to the song.

Over 600,000,000 views and most people liked it and had lots of fun.
Plus countless parody videos = over billion views ...

I think that I saw the term once before and didn't know what they were talking about. Otherwise, this is the first I have heard of it. I only listen to the radio in the car and then it is on an oldies station. I don't watch much TV either and then, evenings and not during the day.
