In that order:

Like any tourists visiting (tourism of course a huge industry here) I have met my fair share of yanks 'sound as a pound' (as we say) and also the loud, misguided fools who expect to see us all living in thatched cottages and travelling by horse and cart in our Aran sweaters...
Ive been to San Fran, San Jose, Washington and New York. All good memories, especially New York. Of course, the exchange rate was much more favourable at that time...:)...I love the New York accent.
Am a Dub, so naturally Dublin to me is the best City in the World. But dont take my word for it - it seems to be a common theme on tripadvisor according to visitors, except for the prices which are frankly, outrageous.
I have no particular one holiday destination. I prefer to visit a different country each year. I love Austria.

Of course, and very welcome anywhere you go. There is a very strong Irish presence here (especially in eastern Canada) and you've been part of our history from the very beginnings of New World settlement.

My partner has been in Ireland for the last week, out in the countryside northwest and southwest of Dublin. Says the temperature is in the 50's and 60's, and it drizzles or rains everyday. He's amused (and happy) to see guys out and about in t-shirts in wind and rain as if it's a real summer. Finds the place extraordinarily beautiful, and the Irish wonderful. Also the best butter in the world. The best scones, too. Texts me photos of the rainbows he sees daily. A great trip for him and vicarious pleasure for me.
