Years ago I remember saying to someone, "One day we'll be saying 'remember when Amazon was good? When you'd order something on a Monday night and it would be there by Tuesday afternoon? When they had stuff in stock? When they didn't push garbage products?'" Well, those days are officially over for me.

This is the second time in a row that they delivered something to the wrong address. Their solution? "Go look for it."

The hell I will.

They'll pack breakable items in an envelope and send me a hardcover book in a huge box filled with packing peanuts or 500 yards of bubble wrap.

I got a firestick and it's pointless. All it does is save you the trouble of downloading apps no one wants anyway. Amazon Video is great if you miss the days of watching movies on VHS. They make some content free for prime members, then yank it a day later without notice. And their music streaming service, which I tried because I got a discount , is the worst app in the history of all time and space. It takes anywhere from three minutes to never to actually play something, and if it finally does, 30% of the time it just quits. The sound quality is abysmal, even for a streaming service.

They have a hub in my city so supposedly I can order something in the morning and get it that day. Hasn't happened yet. All we get here are Prime vans roaming the streets like cockroaches on wheels, blasting annoying music and double parking. Seems to me they've bit off more than they can chew. They can choke on it.

Amazon has literally all the money in the world, but they still can't deliver a simple 3 oz. package. Someone should start a site where you can paste in a URL from an Amazon page and they'll either match the price somewhere else or find another source to order it from.

Have you had any problems with Amazon in the past year or so?

I never had any issues with Amazon and i like the overnight/same day shipping. I am thankful the apartment complex has an Amazon hub. I prefer Brick and Mortar stores i hate shopping online and waiting weeks for my product to deliver. Its just annoying they don't carry some of the stuff Amazon has.

Amazon is all you say and more. We hate it but still use it.

It is the most first world problem of first world problems. :rotflmao:

I don't order much from Amazon, but I haven't had any problems with what I did order.

My main complaint is they modified Amazon Prime so a lot of things where you could get them quick, you no longer can. There is only 2 day shipping on essential items. There is actually a class action lawsuit because of it. Not sure why everything was great they could get stuff here the same day or two days constantly for so long and then boom no more.

This. I ordered something last week which was exactly what I wanted and for less money than high street shops wanted to charge. It arrived one day late, although that's most likely because it was sent via Royal Mail rather than delivered by Amazon. Things they deliver themselves usually arrive before the stated delivery date.

The lockdowns, with many afraid to shop in stores for a long time, caused Amazon's vendors to run out of a lot of stuff. They seem to still be struggling to get back to normal/before all the panic buying and hording.

Then, too, there was/is? a problem with the delivery/trucking industry having a tough time finding drivers. Drivers to deliver to homes, and drivers to feed Amazon's warehouses.

Maybe they just need more time to get back up to speed.

We recently were told one of our deliveries was left with our receptionist. Gee thanks.

I literally ordered from Amazon less than five times in my life, but both your objections occurred more than once.

On top of that, we can't get a letter from someone in any decent time any longer, but the big online sellers can hijack USPS resources to serve their markets on Sundays. I don't care what they are paying them, it's just wrong.

Truck drivers are being paid less over time. The industry is scraping lower and long haul trucking is being moved to robotic trucks over time. One more low-skill vocation eroding.

I have issues with third-party distributors, I have to check carefully to make sure I order is coming from Amazon, not somebody's garage.

I usually stick to Prime listings for that reason.:)

I always laugh when I see a very low price on a third party item -- with an enormous shipping fee.

I rarely have problems with Amazon Canada. I can only think of 2 issues. The first was years ago when I bought a Revitive (feet electrical stimulation). For some reason, the pad for the left foot didn't work. There were no problems exchanging it.

The only other problem I had was just a few weeks ago. It was 2 6-packs of Scotties facial tissue. They were supposed to be delivered on a Saturday but they didn't arrive. I gave them until Monday evening. When they didn't arrive, I tracked the package and found they had been delivered on Saturday after all, but to the wrong door. (The delivery person takes a photo and adds a description of where the package was left.) It was delivered to the right building, but the wrong address. I live in the first unit of a 4-plex (white door), but the photo showed the package was delivered to either the 3rd or 4th unit (black doors).

I phoned Customer Service and spoke to an agent who, within 15 minutes, had the full story (including the colours of the doors) and had put in a new order for me with no extra cost to me.

One of my neighbours won't have to buy tissues for a while.

Ive only had 2 problems with Amazon 1 I bought Christmas tree stars for a ceramic christmas tree they were too small for the tree, 2 I bought someone a pair of pants for christmas and they wrote down the wrong size so 1 wax on me 2 was on someone else. Where as I like that somewhat regularly get free Amazon cards via a businesses rewards program I belong to (its enough to buy Christmas gifts for a family member) I am a tactile shopper I wanna be able to feel inspect and see how merchandise will work/look! From personal experience I cant buy shoes online it just doesnt work. Im a 90s baby at heart so im a mall dweller! Give me the iced coffee shopping bags and cinnabon any day over the cold finger tapping experience of amazon!

Now that brick and mortar stores have began to vanish I suppose that Amazon feels like they can slack off some.
