AWS is recovering from an early morning outage that knocked out websites and apps worldwide.
A single point of failure highlights the need for redundancy, a need Amazon is being pressured to address.

I guess that's what messed up my Blink Security Cameras today since early this morning.

Blink sync module had to reset over and over.

Grrrrrrrr!

This is why I backup all my data to external hard drives lying on the floor next to my computer, instead of to "the cloud" which is just a deceptive name for "someone else's computer". If the internet or "someone else" is down, you can't access your data. If "someone else" has a major crash, you could lose your data. If "someone else" gets hacked, who knows who has your data. If "someone else" has your data, who knows what they could do with your data, or to you? And if "someone else" turns your data over to der Trumpenführer's Gestapos, who know what that means for you.

When my desktop computer actually crashed last year, all I had to do was plug that external hard drive into my laptop and everything was there. No downloading all my stuff from "someone else's computer". I had everything I needed while I built a new desktop system. Other than the initial cost of buying the hard drive, it's all free, too.
