Ambassador Oren: Obama's problem is with America.

Michael Oren, former Israeli Ambassador has published a book entitled Ally about the relations of the two countries.http://www.timesofisrael.com/from-clooney-to-clinton-20-revelations-from-michael-orens-new-book/In it he points our that Obama's real problem is his dislike of the US. This is from a review:

Oren stunned by Obama’s attitude to the United States: Reading the president’s memoir “Dreams From My Father,” the ambassador says he scoured the book in vain “for some expression of reverence, even respect, for the country its author would someday lead” but finds none. Instead, in Oren’s reading, “the book criticizes Americans for their capitalism and consumer culture, for despoiling their environment and maintaining antiquated power structures.” He notes that Obama accused Americans traveling abroad of exhibiting “ignorance and arrogance” — the very same shortcomings, notes Oren dryly, that the president’s critics assigned to him".

This, of course, explains much of the problem with Obama. Even more than liberals in general, he dislikes our country and our people. He dislikes the economy, but of course, he does not understand it. His legacy should be as the President who hated America.

Mr Oren is disappointed that President Obama's administration is taking a much more objective approach to the long simmering animosity between Iran, and Israel.

Were President Obama to blindly follow the predictable recipe for disaster espoused by Israeli prime minister, Netanyahu when dealing with Iran, I am very certain that Mr. Oren's opinion of President Obama would be flattering.

My impression exact as well. I don't expect to hear anything from an Israeli official that isn't simply a reflection of how happy they are with how the U.S. or a given administration is going along with Israel's desired foreign policy.

Like establishing unconstitutional extrajudicial prisons, unconstitutionally spying on Americans without cause or warrant, unconstitutionally torturing people, and unconstitutionally imprisoning people without charges or trial indefinitely?

Was his summary of Obama's dislike of America from Obamas book inaccurate. That is the important point. This is the same Obama who sat in Rev Wrights church for 20 years listening to America being demonized and cursed, and we must assume, agreeing, nodding cheering and dancing in the aisles with congregation. (Remember the videos). It goes a long way to explaining his policies grounded in his dislike for Americans and preference for non Americans.
