From where many of us sit outside of the US, it appears that the American people have lost all Hope.

The Democrats have failed to deliver on the promises of Hope, in part because of the obstructionist environment and, in part, by their own failure to own the agenda.

The Republicans and Tea Partiers, along with Fox News, seem to deliver a promise of snuffing out Hope and positive change entirely, promising to return America to the same policies that have brought the nation to its knees.

So. America.

Is there still the possibility of hope alive for the nation...or are these the dark ages of America.

How do you think Hope can be re-ignited?

Who do you think are the best individuals to provide leadership?

Whoa!

Slow down their rareboy!

The post was like a smack upside the head with a 2X4.

You see it too?

Your first question:

Is there still the possibility of hope alive for the nation...or are these the dark ages of America.

Personally would like to believe that the "right" has been trying so hard (and successfully) at screaming down the "left" that no one in our media is really focusing many of those "in the middle."

And unfortunately it's many of those in the middle whole be sitting this election out.

Considering how much is at stake, and if one agrees with how this election is going to go next week, I'd say that we're approaching even darker days.

Question number two:

How do you think Hope can be re-ignited?

Hope for what?

Some are hoping that the Republicans will regain control of both houses of Congress.

If the election goes their way, they'll only be disappointed to discover by the 2012 POTUS elections that they didn't "get their country" back, and that they're really not better off than they are now.

Some are hoping that the Democrats will maintain some semblance of power in both houses of Congress, and be able to hold back what they see as the "Corporate Take-Over" of America, while at the same time the Democrats will find a backbone, a message, and a sense of unity in moving our country forward.

And if the Democrats are as soundly defeated as the "right" claims that they will, hope that the Democrats will find a backbone, a message, and a sense of unity in moving our country forward.

Either way the left or the right won't be happy.

So I ask again; Hope for What?

Question number three:

Who do you think are the best individuals to provide leadership?

If President Obama put more walk in his talk, I still think that he might be our only hope over the next two years to provide any real sense of leadership.

Considering how he seems to always to lose control of his message I'm not holding out much hope their either. :(

Dark days indeed.

It took the Democrats nearly 16 years to regain congress and they'll have lost it within four years.

Americans aren't happy with either party right now, and I feel that many of us are losing what's left of any hope of regaining our "can do attitude" in the face of threats to our national well being.

Very perceptive of you. We have.

Again, very perceptive.

Is there still the possibility of hope alive for the nation...or are these the dark ages of America.

No. These are the dark ages. I expect them to last another 100 to 200 years.

How do you think Hope can be re-ignited?

No. The future of the world lies in Asia, not America.

Who do you think are the best individuals to provide leadership?

In America, we have none. Nor will we, for quite a long time.

There was once a time when Egypt was the major power in the world. Then came Greece, then Rome, and later on England. For a while America was the power in the world, but now the title is being handed to China.

China is a sleeping giant, and beware when it wakes up. He's waking up. America is losing it's title thanks to the men in suits.

Canada -- the next sleeping giant?

I never understood Obama's hope. Hope for what? Hope that he got elected and his agenda was passed without any discussion? Hope that he got his way for everything he wanted? Hope that people would see him as the messiah?

I think that ones that saw hope in Obama -- didn't see "his hope" they saw hope as it was in their own minds. The two weren't the same -- and people are seeing that now.

Any "hope" was foolish in the first place.

- Benjamin the donkey.

I think the hope was that Obama would be able to prevent the destruction of this country by Republicans. I think everyone has come to the sad conclusion that it's too late, the damage has been done, and there's likely no way to undo it all.

It was a good country while it lasted......

President Obama will be able to clean up the Republican mess if they allow him to do it. It's hard to get things done when there's a bunch of crybaby Republican criminals getting in the way.

Yup, Obama ruined it.

The Republicans can not fix it because Obama will still have veto power.

However, they can prevent future damage.

It is just like leaving a trail of breadcrumbs.

I'm not a big fan of "hope". I think that having hope means you've got nothing else left.

I'm an optimist. I believe in the goodness of people. I think we pay way too much attention to politicians. They aren't what makes this country great, the people are.

Pay less attention to the politicians, and do a better job of making life better for yourself and your fellow man. Politicians always see the glass as half empty. I'm seeing it as half full, and I know how and where to get more if I want it.

Don't depend on anybody for your success and happiness except for yourself. And don't ever think that the government is ever going to do anything for you, that won't result in some loss of your freedom.

I believe in the greatness of America, in spite of the politicians, not because of any one of them.

Highlighted a good point. If these people hate government and politicians so much and want them out of our lives, why are they so wrapped up in it?
