American government to blame for Syrian Refugee crisis

In fairness, what about PFNY's challenge? Where in ther world is your country taking the lead in dealing with despots like Assad?

My country? Well, I'm not Canadian — my country is recognised as neutral, and we have excellent diplomats since time immemorial :)

I usually stay out of discussions like this. There is so much anti American sentiment and I don't have the energy to deal with it. It's easy to blame America, we put up a lot of the man power, money, equipment to fight these regimes sometimes for years with very little or no help from the actual countries we are trying to help and we get lambasted when we decide that enough is enough. Sometimes I think America should just mind its own business and let the chips fall where they may in the rest of the world. It seems that the people who stick their necks out to help get the most grief...
Lol....well no doubt nuke the whole area soon enough probably

Iraq? Bush's baby. As for withdrawal in Iraq, that too is Bush's baby. Status of Forces Agreement. Obama was following the agreement. Plus, Iraq wanted us out. I do agree that the US should accept more refugees, but I'm in no position to do anything about it.

Is Europe going to help us take in the Mexicans, or are they uniquely our problem too?

Oh right, you can't help us with a refugee crisis because of Mexicans! I get it....

Considering we absorbed 5.9 million Mexican migrants in 2012 alone I think it's Europe's turn to figure it out.

Edit: And just because Republicans won't let us officially declare them refugges doesn't mean that's not what the Mexicans really are. That country is a serious shit hole.

I suppose you mean the UNODC murder rates?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_intentional_homicide_rate

Yes, Mexico has more murders than USA; oh! I'd like to read benvolio's fancy explanation of that fact since he cannot blame black people in Mexico; at least AFAIK there aren't that many people of African extraction in Mexico…

The west needs to leave Syria alone and let the chips fall. Unfortunately a middle east problem is now Europe problem.

I think the Europeans have asked for help but due to politics Obama seems unwilling to do much. Accepting 10,000 refugees is not doing enough when Germany has accepted close to 1 million.

Do you think Europe is afraid of getting on Americans "bad side", its either stand up for themselves or deal with the crisis in a way that these things always play out,

Many people in America know that Syria is a problem the US created, along with a more hostile Iran.

It really is up to European leaders to pressure the USA for fixing its own messes, as the American people who are paying attention are only listened to very rarely.

Nobody is forcing anyone to take the refugees, and i dont think they would be unless they believed they had something to gain or just feel guilty for themselves.

And Mexico is an USA problem. Ain't geography a bitch?

On the other hand, despite geography, New Hampshire is a European problem, I presume. They have such a low murder rate in New Hampshire that it's completely unbelievable that they would be decent US Americans! Are these people there utter Anti-American morons? Communists? Too shtoopid to handle fire weapons? Extraterrestrials? Other reasons?

Not sure what geography textbooks you use in those fancy European schools of yours, but every map I've ever seen of the world puts New Hampshire nowhere close to Europe.

But you agree with me, that New Hampshire's lack of murder is a serious problem not only for US America, but also the whole world? Let alone the EUROPEAN fire weapon industry's economic stability?

(My wealthy quaint Arcadian country produces and exports very fine fire weapons, btw :))
