So far Pink and Kelly Clarkson SUH-LAYED a duet even though I don't really like that song "Everybody Hurts."

For some reason Selena Gomez performed, not sure why cuz she can't sing or dance all she really does is pout her lips and make suggestive poses, and it's creepy cuz she looks like an 8 year old girl in the face but I guess all the former Disney stars grow up to be tramps.

Some Jonas brother performed, who cares?

Ciara was in attendance, not sure why, she hasn't had a hit since 2006, now she's only famous for making creepy sexually suggestive instagram videos with her cornball ass footballer husband Russel Wilson (oddly, he's a self-described Christian so you'd think talking about their sex life on social media would be... nevermind I'm not even gonna go there).

The biggest disappointment of the night was Chriscreama Shriekalera obliterating a Whitney tribute. I dunno why these award shows act like she's the only big voice in the industry, lots of people could've done a Whitney tribute. As usual she shouted and riffed her way through a medley STILL thinking that adding 9,000 riffs and growls = soul singing. And of course people ate it up cuz they don't really understand soul music. Her technique is so terrible she's done more wear-n-tear on her voice in 20 years than Aretha Franklin did in 40. Her tone is muuuuch deeper like she's been singing for half a century. Hopefully she blows a vocal chord or something and won't be asked to bomb any more Whitney songs.

I'm anxiously awaiting Pink's second performance she's supposed to be hanging off the side of a building 30 floors up so you know it's gonna be big and make all the other garbage performers realize just how little their talents are.

I only watched the Diana Ross Tribute....

I only needed a tissue once....

What can I say..I have loved her since I was 10 years old....and I loved her even more when I used to go to all her concerts. She helped me out of a couple of the worst times in my life...I used her words and advice..and it worked.....

I will love this woman 'til the day I die...I don't care what anyone else says....she can do no wrong in my eyes....

I respect her as an artist..a person...a mother...glad I got to see her get the lifetime achievement award before I die....she deserves it.

I'm scared to ask who did the tribute. Since this was the AMAs I'm imagining Kesha and Adam Levine, and it sounds terrible in my head. Adam being the queen he is I can hear him shredding Love Hangover to pieces with his whiny nasally falsetto.

No one can beat Whitney at her songs. Still, Christina is one of my favorite female vocalist. No matter how suck or screamy she is.I still love her.

I love Christina Aguilera's rendition
gave me chills and tears

Her rhythm was off, anyone who understands soul music caught that. Some of her notes were pretty, the bottom of her voice is like sweet velvet but that belting and screaming was terrible and she was consistently off-tempo.

Luckily for her she didn't have the WORST performance of the night, at least her mic was turned on. This Selena Gomez "comeback" (once upon a time you actually had to be gone for more than 5 minutes to call it a comeback) that has been hyped for a month turned out to be her lipsynching while rolling around on the floor. Life is way too easy when you're skinny and pretty. ](*,)

What's with Bruno Mars winning 7 awards anyway lol ?!?

When he first came out I loathed him for the Amy Winehouse comparisons, I still think he's a fucking cornball but his music is actually pretty decent, he's still not in Winehouse's league but his success is largely due to being racially ambiguous and making semi-believably soul funk. I still hate him though, but he's aight.

It probably sounded bad in Diana's head too...so her kids introduced her and she sang her own medley....

I have probably seen everything Diana Ross that exists on You Tube...and the best tribute ever for her was from Patti LaBelle.....
The song she sang is really personal for her I think and Diana was trying really hard not to cry...

The Dianna Ross tribute was great because she looked great and still has a damn good voice and because her grandkids came up on stage and then the entire family and Dianna was so happy.

Pink and Kelly were great and Everybody Hurts is a great song (my fav version is Joe Cocker). Kelly doing her own song later was electric. Joe Jonas was fine as was Shawn Mendes who is one of the prettiest people on earth. Macklemore was terrific. It was a great show for music from beginning to end.

I noticed when she did IWALY chorus and Run To You were off
overall she did good
imagine doing medley of 3 hardest ballads even Whitney herself years before she died (RIP) couldnt do that

Whitney is still Whitney and Christina is Christina
you cant expect Christina to sound like Whitney so deal with those growls, raspy sound and overlong adlibs

Whitney's states themselves asked Christina to do this twice

and both parties satisfied and happy

Screamalera's problems isn't rasp or growls themselves, some of my favorite singers are Janis Joplin and Aretha Franklin who wailed all the time, the difference is they understood subtlety, they didn't shout every single lyric and cram 75,000 riffs into every performance, Shriekalera goes overboard and it makes her sound effected and overdramatic AND it's ruining her voice. Also I wouldn't mention that Whitney's loved ones approved, they're all a bunch of leeching psychos their opinion doesn't count. Personally I don't see why the AMAs didn't reach out to the 16 katrillion soul/jazz singers like Lalah Hathaway, Jill Scott, Rachelle Ferrell et cetera who could've given a more compotent, polished and most importantly rhythmic tribute to Whitney, hell I'm sure if you offer her a bottle of schnopps Chaka Khan would've done it.

Pat is a money grubber with no credibility, and still there are at least 5 LEGIT soul singers I can think of just off the top of my head who earned their stripes not in corny pop tart music by stealing riffs from other artists but in the jazz and r&b world where they are respected and highly regarded, the ONLY difference between them and Christina (aside from an actual understanding that soul music is more than just riffing and shouting) is blonde hair and blue eyes.

*drops mic*

Rachelle Ferrell. LEGEND.
Chaka Khan. LEGEND.
Lalah Hathway. R&B royalty.
Ledisi. Highly acclaimed.
Jill Scott. what needs to be said?
Mary J. Blige. hip hop/r&b queen
Ciara. LMAO just kidding :rotflmao:

Chaka would have been the obvious choice because she loved Whitney..they were like sisters....and Chaka knew her before she even hit it big. Cissy Houston (Whitney's mom) was one of Chaka's back-up singers.....

The only problem might have been if Chaka could keep it together....I remember when Whitney died Chaka was heartbroken...

I like Christina just fine...I don't "love" her like I do Chaka or Rachelle....but I would have rather seen Chaka because I watched all of the interviews after her death and I watched them together before her death..the connection was genuine and real and a more fitting tribute I think...

I would also have considered Anita Baker or Roberta Flack or Stephanie Mills.....
