bush will undoubtedly invade canada and accuse you of harboring terrorist sympathizers.

and let's not exaggerate...they think it's a couple dozen soldiers out of the million or so we have.

what exactly are the fees to run to Canada? - in real money that is.

i'd love to read what these news sources say on the topic, can you provide some links to the stories on this?

It works out to an average of $427.39 Canadian. (With the exchange, $17.28 America, or about twice the price of a pack of cigarettes here and half the price of a two-four.)

17 bucks for a packet of ciggies!

You're just saying that to keep me away!

I said 'twice the price'. A package of cigarettes around here runs anywhere from 8 to 10 bucks per pack of 25, depending on where you buy them. Of course, that includes 14% tax.

I do apologize, i was masturbating and mis-read it.

It is when its its D.J. and Josh smoking them!

Yeah. A couple of cute guys sucking on a couple of fags. Of course, it has a whole different meaning over on this side of The Pond, but the connotations and images they inspire are there.

And now, my friend, I believe we had suitably hijacked this thread enough. Time to get back to the topic at hand. . . All those American cuties seeking asylum in Canada!

I haven't heard about increased movement to Canada. Usually it's the other way around, though that trend is starting to change.

Since the military here is an all volunteer militiary and not what it was like in the Vietnam era when conscription was manditory, I am puzzeled why young Americans would "flee" the country. I would guess there would be other reasons...no job, no health care, corrupt federal government, etc. List would be endless for a reason to flee! Would be interesting to interview these Americans and find out their reasons!

i think i'd rather get killed in iraq than flee to canada. i mean how much niceness can you put up with before you blow your brains out?

Have you not heard of Amerixcans sick and tired of the waring? Where have you been! Oh, Yeah! Out in the Prairies! IT'S IN ALL THE NEWSPRINT AND ON CANADIAN TELEVISION, BUT NOT A WORD IS SAID IN OTHER REGIONS, SHALL WE SAY!
I watch the news every single day, and haven't heard about people arriving here in droves. CBC, CTV, Global, none of them have said anything recently. I don't read the Globe and Mail.

I know there was a huge stink from blue states about moving here when Bush was reelected, but aside from that...:?

I sure they don't near equal the number of canadians wanting to come to america. I have about 60 applications on my desk from canada for 7 jobs right now. More from canada than than # of us applicants.

Exactly.

Any American fleeing to Canada is in fact a dumbass, and there fore, we are all better off without them. Have fun with them Canada. ;)

I do not mean this to be a politically charged thread. It is more to get your emotional, gut reaction!

Are you shocked, elated or what is your feeling about so American boys fleeing to Canada to get away from the smell of war, death and destruction permeated by the endless war in Iraq.

The last month has seen such a large influx infiltrating into Canada report The Toronto Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star and The National. Most Americans are remaining in seclusion, but the demand for political asylum has already started in earnest!

How do you feel about what most say was inevitable?

First of all I doubt if the young adults are "fleeing" to Canada as you title states. This from a "university lecturer?" Give me a break.

Would you let a student turn in a paper without footnoting or other references and or stated references if they are quoting outside materials?????

I mean, that is a real no brainer. You don't publish your sources with comments such as the ones you have quoted???.:grrr: :grrr:

I did not realize that as a " (part -time?)resident of the U.S. as you have stated you are.," would be so interested in the well being of our youth.

Is it alright if non-homosexual males do the "feeing" or as is more commonly known, "fleeing" along with "the sweet young boys" you have mentioned from your lecturers?

You often post so much about what is taking place in the states - have you considered studying us in a course or two or three - we are a rather confused lot, you know?

:=D: :=D:

these are random ramblings of the local village idiot trying to figure out why this would not be considered a non politically charged thread - given the contents of the original posting.](*,) ](*,)
