Oh Amsterdam...I miss it so much. It's just so alive. And cosmopolitan and fun...you'll hare to leave.

I'm saying this and I got $1000 of brand-new photo equipment stolen there. My fault for leaving it in my hotel room, which was at one of those really cheap travelers hotels downtown. I never feared for my safety there, but keep your wallet close and your stuff safe.

Every time I go, I end up eating nothing but chocolate covered waffles. They're in every store and impossible to resist.

Also it's impossible (for me anyway) not to think of Vinnie's speech at the top of Pulp Fiction. Try the mayo on the fries, it's actually pretty good. And last time i was there you could still get a beer in a glass at the movies theater during intermission. EVERY movie, no matter how short, has an intermission, so you can go drink up during the movie.

It's gone so far downhill that we hardly consider it worth the trouble anymore. Still, you can have some fun there.

Downhill is where most leather bars are located. Hard to imagine one in a chic neighborhood...
