Re: Amy Winehouse: Drunk & Booed In Serbia 6/18/11 -- 'Worst' Concert Ever, Media says

#score 1

Sad tragedy. I'm mad her manager/promoters/handlers even let her on stage like that. Stumbling around and just totally mumbling/slurring and forgetting the lyrics. Money must be drying up for her team and they need to milk her again. Such a damn shame..

The same exact thing could be said about Whitney Houston.

What a sad, pathetic life you Whitney fan(atic)s must lead. Always looking to find fault in others to not make Whitney look as bad as she is. The simple truth is that Whitney is a drug addict just like Amy. As a matter of fact Whitney has probably been an addict longer than Amy's been alive.

As some claim that nobody could touch Whitney at her peak, no one could also touch her at her peak of drug abuse. She was the ultimate mess. Some of you may be too young to remember but it's well documented on video and print.

As far as the concert review, look no further than the Whitney Houston Memorial Thread and you will find more scathing reviews of Whit's last tour.

While Houston may have been a technically better singer in the past, she will NEVER produce a masterpiece such as "Back to Black".

Re: Amy Winehouse: Drunk & Booed In Serbia 6/18/11 -- 'Worst' Concert Ever, Media says

^Well, I agree but then I don't. You can push her all you want to get clean. But if she doesn't want to get clean, she won't.

But I guess they could start by not allowing her to sign up for a concert like this if she's so damn high, she can barely stand.

I agree. If you're gonna get high and decide to give a show, at least be able to stand up straight and at least appear mostly alert/coherent. They knew that girl was too drugged and high to be putting on a show. She was soooo disoriented. She couldn't even control herself. Walking over to her dancers when she first walked out and almost falling over onto them. Taking off her shoe and throwing it. Stumbling over and just clearly too out of it to be up on that stage.

Whitney's issue was her voice being damaged and showing up hoarse. And she's actively taking the steps to correct that issue, by quitting smoking and putting herself back in rehab and even extended her rehab stay. But that's what disappointed people with her. Her voice. She's never been this far off track..and especially when she's on stage. Being SO out of it that she couldn't even stand straight or slurring her words and almost passing out like Amy is here.

God, maybe you really are his stalker.

First off, who's been an addict longer doesn't matter when neither are clean now.

Second, Whitney has had more hits and albums, triumphs than Amy, who has just the ONE album. ONE. I could say, for instance - if I wanted to - that Amy's album was a fluke brought on by a transcendental lull in her high(s), thereby discrediting her entire appeal in this back and forth battle between these two divas. I won't, because that's not fair(or smart, as a LOT of true masterpieces have been assisted in part or in full by the drug of choice of the artist) - nor is your constant picky attempts to go in on Whitney EVERY CHANCE YOU GET. Because unlike Amy - to the best of my knowledge - a lot of the great songs and albums Whitney had a hand in, she had a hand in SOBER. The last two albums to date were abysmal, and go figure, she was either in or between rehab sessions, on or just getting off the drugs.

Third, as far as concerts reviews, neither has done anything impressive in years, but at LEAST Whitney is playing to her home audience and getting... mixed reactions that sent her back to SEARCH FOR HELP. I didn't even know Amy was still performing, but a little audience(I might be making light of how many fans she does have in Europe as a whole, so on this i'm ignorant) in Serbia outright booed her. What does that tell you about how much she cares about her fans; about herself?

Whitney may not make a Back To Black(and quite frankly, why does she need to?), but neither one are in a position to recapture any of their former magic and glory. The SAD part is, time has pretty much run out on the both of them to even look to try. So I don't get why it matters that her fall is getting compared to Whitney's fall. The point is, they both fell.

The bickering is sad. Neither one is a goddess.

That was seriously unprofessional behaviour, and a total insult to her fans who paid a lot of moeny to see her perform.

I actually quite like Ms Winehouse ... although she hasn't actually done very much for the past 5 years. A new album now and again would be quite nice, if she could possibly keep herself together long enough to finish a few recording sessions.

Right. Thank you. I agree.

And Lol, I've been trying to tell y'all that this "EvilTwin" guy is my stalker, and is totally obsessed with me & my posts. He's so predictable -- always right there to quote me and try to go in on Whitney ANY CHANCE HE GETS, like you said. And for what reason? I've been observing his tired pattern/passion/obsession with me+my posts for years now. Like Mariah said: why you so obsessed with me? Interesting. !oops!

High quality vid of her Serbian performance...

A total mess. #-o

Btw -- MOBY, who performed just after Amy in Belgrade, wrote this on his Twitter account:

"I don't know amy winehouse, but I sincerely hope that someone close to her can intervene and get her some help. Its truly heartbreaking."

Yet another desperate cry for attention, by an untalented junkie trying to emulate a black female soul singer. These little bits of theater she does are simply to incite publicity and empathy. Don't fall for it. She needs to be totally ignored and allowed to stew in her own juices.

Junkie? Sad but true :(

Untalented? NO! [-X

Could be. #-o

...not that she had too much to lose, anyway. I mean she was never a "powerhouse" type of singer with a big voice and lots of range. She had nice interpretive skills, though.

Re: Amy Winehouse: Drunk & Booed In Serbia 6/18/11 -- 'Worst' Concert Ever, Media says

for some reason i really feel for here.
i guess she has a real fragile soul this is why she is able to write this deep lyrics. Even when you listen to it you can feel the pain here soul went trough.

i dont want to put the fact that she is a junky as a good point.
but people with the kind of gift she has are rare and special.

if i was here manager i would advice here to get out of the spotlights. and try to live a simple life. (she will never be able too...) and write hard reality songs for other people.

i guess what i want to say is that she has a rare gift to express real pain and to do this you have to be a train wreck i guess.
my hart goes out to here because she has a talent and a gift to see the world trough the hearts of millions of people. (of course you have to be a little crazy to see the world trough these eyes...)

Re: Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse cancels part of European tour, singer 'cannot perform to the best of her ability'

The news that Amy Winehouse has canceled part of her European tour is a blow to the fans patiently awaiting her comeback. Seeing the reason behind the cancellations, however, makes for a heartbreaking confirmation that the embattled singer doesn't seem ready for the stage and appears to be on the losing end of her battle against sobriety.

Winehouse was in the Serbian capital of Belgrade this last weekend, kicking off what was supposed to be a 12-date European tour. As a slew of embarrassing videos showcasing her erratic onstage behavior show, the performance was a disaster.

In one YouTube clip, the singer stumbles through "Just Friends." Her eyes heavily glazed, she can barely stand upright and she rattles off a band introduction as she slurs the lyrics to the tracks.

Winehouse was booed both for her poor performance and her tardiness, and has canceled appearances in Istanbul (where she was scheduled to perform Monday) and in Athens on Wednesday, according to the Associated Press. Her representatives said it would be "worked out as soon as possible" as to whether or not she would resume the rest of the tour.

Winehouse is scheduled to appear in Bilbao, Spain, on July 8; the tour was scheduled to wrap in Bucharest, Romania on Aug. 15.

"Despite feeling sure that she wanted to fulfill these commitments, she has agreed with management that she cannot perform to the best of her ability and will return home," the statement read, adding that she "feels that this is the right thing to do."

Enraged audience members walked out on the singer, and the term "hard-earned money" couldn't be truer for her Serbian fans. Tickets to the show cost about 40 euros ($57), a pretty penny in the country where average salaries are around 300 euros ($428) a month.

Re: Amy Winehouse

LOL @ "Rather than show the disastrous performances, check out Winehouse at her finest below". Oh how nice of y'all to have a heart and some compassion for once, but y'all have NO PROBLEM AT ALL showing Whitney's less-than-stellar performances. And Whitney has TONS & TONS of performances throughout the years where she was at her "finest", but y'all still love to shine light on the not so good ones. So I really find that HIGHlarious that y'all want to have a heart all of a sudden with Amy.

I also have to snicker at this thread being brought back from the dead just for that "announcement" to be posted. If it hadn't been for my thread on Amy being drunk/high/wasted/a mess, I highly doubt this thread would have been bumped back up to combat it.
