Hello friends...I have a serious annoying problem and wonder if I'm alone. My butthole itches like hell, especially at night. I usually give in and go deep inside and scratch. I am clean! to the point of obsessive about anal hygiene. No anti-itch creme has given me the relief that a good old-fashioned scratching can provide. Please tell me I'm not the only one..?
If so, how do you deal? I have noticed that sweat is sometimes a factor

I have this problem too. I am fine until I go to bed at night, than it itches like crazy. I am clean, as well as my sheets, but it happens. No idea what causes it.

Well it feels better at least knowing I'm not alone. Thanks Stoffe

I suggest a doctor's visit. Maybe it could be the soap you are using, it may dry your skin. Maybe you should lotion your butt after you shower.

The most common cause of anal itching is hemorrhoids, although pinworms is often associated with nighttime anal itchiness.

In the past I have had what my doctor called "fissures" which are small tears in the rectum which has caused terrible itching. The worst thing you can do is scratch at your rear, this can cause them to tear even more. Best remedy is to take a "sitz bath" 2-3 times a day. They are caused if you have had problems with bowel movements, either to hard or to loose, or have been consitpated. Check out WebMD.com for details and info on how to treat them.

maybe the start of psoriasis or excema. I know thats an area that can be affected.

A hydrocortisone cream should take care of it. Preparation H has several creams for itching and one with hydrocortosone.

Doctors usually recommend giving up caffeine as a first step with this problem....also any spicy foods.

It was recommended to me an anti fungal cream - (I used Lamisil). It took a few days, but it worked.

My first thought was hemorrhoids. My ex-boyfriend had some pretty big equipment and as the bottom, I don't think I knew that it was a real possibility until too late. I guess you kind of just learn to deal with it, but definitely see your doctor and try a cream for some nighttime relief!

Well..that's not an issue here. You see, I'm married and have never had sex with a man except for a brief encounter many years ago. Welcome to my double life. Maybe I need a shrink but I'm a homosexual male living the life of a straight guy. Probably never heard of that one, huh? My outlet is logging on to JUB. BTW, I love my wife and girls...

This.

If it isn't fungal, hemmahoids or a similar condition that can cause itching, hydrocortinsone cream is extremely beneficial. Thankfully, being a son of a (retired) pharmacist, I usually have plenty on hand.
