Re: Anyone else get aroused by any video game or a

Don Karnage from Talespin was my first cartoon crush. He may have been the one to convince me that yes, I'm gay. Judging by some things I've run into online, I'm not the only one, either. :)

Any Anime fans out there?

Im a bit of an Otaku and love most things Japanese. At the moment, my greatest love is for the modern Japanese music scene be it Pop to Rock, I love it (for the most part).

But enough of that, anyone here like anime? Im currently into "Code Geass" and "Soul Eater". I use to watch Bleach religiously, but its starting to suck now...

^ Soul Eater Opening. I love the art style!

Anyone else out there who also likes anime? Any good series to look out for?

Re: Any Anime fans out there?

Yes. I don't watch anything and everything from Japan, but I like animated mediums because they can do some things way better than live action ever could.

favorite anime: FLCL, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Paranoia Agent, Lain, Boogiepop Fantom, Hunter x Hunter, Berserk (though I much prefer the manga), One Piece (likewise, manga is much better.), and a bunch of others I can't remember right now.

I generally just like fiction a lot. I often prefer the manga to the anime, as far as adaptations go, the manga usually tells the better story.... though anime is better for stories that rely on a lot of action or cinematic elements.

As far as manga go, Berserk is king, IMO. I find it really difficult to top. Kentaro Miura is a storytelling genius. It's the only manga I'd seriously say has enough literary merit to fit into an English class curriculum. The story and characters are so intense, and the scope/fullness of the world it takes in is extremely vast and believable. The characters are also amazing, there's lots of philosophical and existential elements, and it's one of the most complete (and genuinely horrifying) tragedy/dark-fantasy stories I've ever encountered. Though be warned, it's really intense and graphic... though I generally feel it's all for good cause.

Re: Any Anime fans out there?

I've always been into anime. My favorites are any of the Dragonballs, Yugioh, Inuyasha, and Death Note. I also have a fascination of Japanese culture. I don't know what it is, the things about their pop culture intrigue me.

Re: Any Anime fans out there?

I'm hoping to start creating my own manga by this time next year. I'm falling hard for anime and I'm loving it so far. I'm watching Bleach and then I plan on watching Death Note. The thing is, I prefer Dubbed, but Bleach dubbed stops at 77 at the moment, so I'm up to 92 on subbed and I'm adjusting to it. Not to bad. I'm trying to get through it as fast as possible for Death Note.

I'm doing Code Geass after Death Note, and then I have about 40 others I need to watch.

Re: Any Anime fans out there?

I used to watch Anime to pass time when I'm bored, but now I watch it because I like them haha.

I heard about Code Geass and Soul Eater, but haven't watch them yet. I like Naruto, Bleach, Claymore, Death Note, D. Grayman, and just caught up with One Piece. So I guess I'll start watching new anime... and it'll probably be Code Geass or Soul Eater.

And I have to agree with you on Bleach... It's starting to suck now with all the fillers... but I still watch it.

Re: Any Anime fans out there?

I love One Piece and Naruto, i hate BOBOBO, hate it

I'd personally have to group Bo Bo Bo-Bo-Bo in the same group as "anime" like Pokémon and Sonic X. That sort of program that people call anime, yet the drawing style looks too clean - sterile. If you get what I mean.
Its probably because its aimed at a very young age group.

Anyone else had an odd fascination with anime's such as Cardcaptors and Sailor Moon?

Re: Any Anime fans out there?

I'm an anime fan, but I wouldn't describe myself as otaku. 日本で、オタクは少しこわくて、寂しいと思っています。

I like a lot of what CLAMP puts out - Cardcaptor Sakura, xxxHOLiC, Tsubasa, X, et cetera. I used to be really into Bleach and Naruto, but my interest has since waned. I adore everything Hayao Miyazaki has ever put out.

Re: Any Anime fans out there?

I have loved Anime for quite some time now. The first one I ever watched was Zoids Zero, and have been hooked to not only that franchise, but to anime ever since (I am currently watching Zoids Genesis online and it is great).

I also abhor BoBoBo, any show that even doesn't take its own title seriously does not get my vote, although I did enjoy Furi Kuri. I tend to lean more towards the more serious animes,, but there are a few that slip through the cracks.

Some of my past and/or current favorites include: Bleach, Naruto, One Piece (but to a lesser extend), Zoids, a few of the Gundam series (like G Gundam and Gundam Seed), Witch Hunter Robin, Wolf's Rain (I liked a lot of the ones that aired on Adult Swim actually), Ah! My Goddess, Utawarerumono, Inuyasha, and many more.

eeee.... could you Kana-fi the Kanji in bold please? My Japanese isnt good enough to read that yet =\

Re: Any Anime fans out there?

He's saying how being called an otaku in Japan, really isn't a good thing. Hmm... how can we compare. An otaku in Japan is comparable to a diehard WoW player in N. America... except worse, maybe?
When I was in Japan a few years ago, my friend wouldn't even bring me to Akihabara in Toyko (ie, Mecca of otaku). In fact, she freaked when I said I wanted to see it.

But anyways, in regards to the topic here. I like kinda old anime series'. 90s stuff, like Slayers, and Evangelion. Not much for all these new pedo-tastic ones they have all over tha place now. YAY for new Slayers series, and new Eva movies though!
