And Let's not forget about the other Deplorables

Another slight win.

Although, remember, DeSantisCo. knows it will fail over and over, but he will keep fighting for it in order to gin the base. Every time it is knocked down his base will just get more and more committed to making it happen...even though it doesn't affect them and they don't even know what it is.

All those laws are deliberately designed to fail.

Here's the thing though, through her loudspeaker over the last few years, Rowling has helped legitimize the anti-trans language and attempts to legislate...so I would argue that Joanne definitely has had an terrible impact on the lives of trans people.
I get that and I think she's self-destructing over an issue that she has no business expressing an opinion about. I would feel the same if she suddenly decided to speak out about circumcision.

By constantly expressing outrage over everything she does, they're platforming her ignorance. And it's no different that what Fox News does- it creates a smokescreen and a lot of noise that distracts from the evil shit that people in power are doing.

I have to admit I could give a shit about J.K. Rowling's bigotries. We have bigger problems.

Mike Pence. For his pathetic joke about Pete Buttigieg

Chasten was on the Daily Show this week. He managed to both take the high road and throw a little gay shade toward the Flyguy.

So, remember the kids with the guns on the Christmas card?

Well, the 17 year wasn't shooting blanks!

Lauren Boebert reveals she will be grandmother at 36 after 17-year-old son’s partner to give birth
Republican representative Lauren Boebert said she was excited to welcome her “brand new grandson” in April, making her a grandmother at 36...

"I’m going to tell you all for the first time in a public setting, that not only am I a mom of four boys, but come April, I will be a (grandmother) to a brand-new grandson,” she announced...

"Now my son, when I approached him and told him, ‘Tyler, I’m going to be a 36-year-old grandmother,’ he said, ‘Well, didn’t you make granny a 36-year-old granny?’

"I said yes, I did," she said, recalling, "He said, ‘Well then, It’s hereditary."

^ So, uh, what's the age of consent in Colorado? ^

Just wondering ...
Likely the same age it was when Lauren was impregnated at age 17, too. Back when Lauren dropped out of high school and was on welfare.

This will be the third generation since Lauren's mother was also impregnated at age 17, allegedly by a 33 year old professional wrestler. And likely, it will be the third generation that has a child out of wedlock, since Lauren also had her first child out of wedlock.

"Family values".

^^^I always think that when the religious right and politicians use the term "family values" they are full of shit and are hiding something.

I keep waiting for a politician to say "Yeah - I sucked alot of dick and I loved getting fucked in the ass"

They would get my vote in a heartbeat AND I would trust them(y)

Lest anyone think the toad is something new in the horde.

A former GOP Texas politician came forward after four decades to say he witnessed his mentor, former Texas Governor John B. Connally Jr., meeting with Middle Eastern leaders to deliver a message: Don't let the Iranian hostages free until after the 1980 election between Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter...

Lest anyone think the toad is something new in the horde.

I thought clear evidence of that had already been found among the papers in the Reagan Presidential Library.

But yeah, more people need to know it.

Effing treasonous swine.

^ I suppose either side of the aisle would have tried the same shit, but we even saw later with Iran Contra that nothing much had changed.

The monsters were inside the Houses.

No, I really don't think the Democrats would actually try to tell another country to keep American hostages locked up longer just for the sake of an election win.

These days, in particular, the kind of people who would do something like that never become Democrats in the first place. They become Republicans.

This is a link to the original NY Times story:

This is not the first time we've gotten a behind-the-scenes story from Ben Barnes. He's been around a lot time and knows where a lot of bodies are buried, it seems.

I would hesitate to be as broad in my assurances.

Do I think that Carter, Obama or Biden would do it? No.

Do I think that "Democratic operatives" would do it? I'm not so sure whether they would or wouldn't.

Do I think that George H.W. Bush, Connally, Casey and other Republican operatives were negotiating to undermine Carter and boost Reagan's chances? Sadly, yes.

Do I think Reagan was in on it? I think he may have deluded himself into believing that his operatives were negotiating (illegally) for release of the hostages. Or maybe he had another lapse of memory like he did when his operatives in the White House were running the Iran-Contra operation.

Prevarication and political chicanery aren't party specific. That said, there's a difference between the tactics of guys like Lee Atwater (who repented before he died and went to hell) and someone like Jim Carville. Atwater would do things like say that John McCain had a black love child or that McCain had been turned into a Manchurian Candidate when he was a prisoner of war in Vietnam. Jim Carville has a gift for knowing his opponents' strength and weaknesses and how to exploit both; he exaggerates but stops short of making up shit.

Tsk.
These women keep marrying Rupert figuring that he's old and will die and they'll inherit a lot of money. But he may never die (he's probably made a pact with the Devil), and at some point, like Wendi Deng, they can't stand it anymore and leave. Many of them, at least, have sense enough to bail out before they tie the knot.

They're fooling themselves if they think that Junior Murdoch is ever going to let them run off with the family money.

There are damages to be paid.
