Joe Kennedy, a Washington State football coach, claimed that he was fired for praying on the field after football games. In 2022, he won a SCOTUS case on Freedom of Religion and Freedom of Speech grounds with the new conservative majority saying that he had been improperly terminated. Kennedy got his job back. Kennedy's attorneys came from... wait for it... First Liberty Institute, the same "not for profit" legal organization that is always taking anti-LGBT cases to the Federal Courts.

Kennedy played one game this year and then quit his job. Apparently, he didn't really care about coaching all that much.

 
Sometimes deplorables aren't just people. They can also be taxpayer funded university hospitals.

University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is a taxpayer funded university that operates hospitals and physician practices in Arkansas. It is also the largest public employer in the State of Arkansas.

In the past 3 years, UAMS has been filing thousands of lawsuits seeking to garnish wages for patients who have unpaid medical bills. Often, the bills amount to less than $1,000, however in the lawsuits, UAMS seeks to recover collection fees, including fines, attorney costs and court costs, which can double or triple the original debt amount.

A CNN investigation found that UAMS is suing their own employees who have outstanding balances. Of the 8,000 patients that UAMS is suing, there are about 500 patients who are also employees of UAMS.

In one case, a Student Recruitment Director featured in a "UAMS Strong" campaign YouTube video for UAMS says, "UAMS Strong means to me that we’re all in this together, that we’re supporting each other, that we’re lifting each other up". The day before the video was posted to YouTube, the same recruitment director was sued for $700 by her employer. UAMS won the case and garnished her UAMS paycheck to collect the debt.
