Trump is probably ahead of Cuomo on stats of how disgusting one or the other is; however, I think that Cuomo should probably resign. On the sexual misconduct charges. Not the Covid issue. When other worse Covid Govs resign first, then fine. Cuomo has turned from Covid media darling to toxic in no time. People in power need to learn to behave themselves.

You do realize that the whole attack on Cuomo is to get TrumpCo. a pardon from a sympathetic NY governor? Why else the flood of accusations right now?

The refrain that I keep hearing is "His constituents will be the judge" when it's a Republican elected official.

Democrats meanwhile seem to be determined to take down their own politicians without anything resembling due process. The sins include decades-old pictures from college yearbooks, comedy tours, inappropriate kisses at weddings...

Meanwhile, Republican elected officials are selling vaccines to wealthy donors, letting thousands of their citizens die of COVID-19 or extreme weather, or plotting with insurrectionists to invade the Capitol... anything (except getting caught having sex with someone of their same gender) is just fine.

You guys are seriously Blue MAGA for buying into this shit. If Cuomo resigned he would be replaced by a Democrat, what makes you think she would pardon Trump? Trump isn’t going to face consequences no matter what. Cuomo wasn’t going to do anything.
 
And as usual, you are taking the very short term view.

A couple of months ago, Cuomo would have been a lock for re-election.

The game now is to make sure the Dems are so weakened that a Republican has a strong shot at Governor in the next election and will owe the win to TrumpCo.

And will preemtively pardon the lot of them.
 
Maybe he shouldn’t have sexual harassed women and lied about the nursing home COVID Numbers and he wouldn’t have to worry about his re-election.

You all are worried more about his re-election than his wrong doings or you just don’t believe that he did anything wrong which eerily sounds very similar to MAGA. Funny how that works. If Cuomo loses re-election it is his own doing. Trump was never going to face real consequences for anything he did.

When you're in a place where you're unable to mount a logical defense of your point of view and, instead, you're telling your counterparts what they're thinking and why they're thinking it, you're on the losing side of an argument.

Cuomo is an asshole. He's a bully. He stifles and overwhelms his opposition.

Those traits are also why he's been an effective governor in one of the most dysfunctional States in the US. If not for Cuomo's haranguing and incessant bullying of the New York bureaucracy, the COVID-19 death totals in New York would probably have been double or triple what they are.

Cuomo might be a sexual harasser. If so, put the evidence out there and then either he can be impeached or the voters can retire him.

There's been a 30 year history of there being two standards where Republicans can sleep with employees, cheat on their wives, pay prostitutes and porn actresses, commit acts of bribery, swindle people out of money, be complicit with the sexual molestation of students in their charge and yes, even rape women; yet, they remain in office.

Meanwhile, all it takes for Democrats to be forced to resign is an accusation that "He made me feel uncomfortable".

Republicans don't have to make efforts to take down powerful Democrats when the Democrats are in a circular firing squad.
 
I agree. There is a double-standard. My perception though is how long is Cuomo for Cuomo's sake, as an individual, supported? The Lt. Governor, who would take over if Cuomo left office, would seem a viable choice. Doesn't hurt that she's a woman. I don't know anything else about her. Meanwhile I think that Democratic voters themselves in NY will ultimately become so alienated if Cuomo sticks around that they'll support a non-GOP alternative, or a GOP candidate who isn't a Trumpie, or not show up to vote at all. A whole slew of Cuomo's NY State colleagues are calling on him to resign. I think it's a reasonable request. But then again I thought Bill Clinton should have resigned. I'm willing to see what an investigation brings (if it's independent) but there's no way that Cuomo is ever going to look like a victim himself. Cuomo's strengths may have gotten NY State through the worst of the Covid crisis. But they don't necessarily endear him to friends and allies when he needs them.

As for feeling uncomfortable, I don't think that the woman whose lawyer spoke for her on NPR was feeling just uncomfortable. Uncomfortable is when office jokes flutter about the office. Or when there's a glancing stare from another cubicle. I believe she felt threatened.

As for Trump potentially being pardoned, perhaps he'll drop dead in a bunker on his golf course and be buried by wind-blown sand before any indictments will stick. If so, so be it. It's the indictments themselves and facts that they bring out that matter more anyway.

It's not a losing argument when you literally do the thing that you quoting me saying. When all the allegations and things come out about Trump or any other Republican is accused of the same thing you guys weren't saying "Well let's wait for the evidence and we he is still doing things over here." And considering you personally have already done it when trying to play a numbers game between him and Trump as if numbers actually matters when it comes to this kind of thing.

This is just not true. A whole bunch of us were screaming for investigations into all of that. Knowing full well that would never happen and the perpetrators would just skate. Which they did.

There is an investigation with Cuomo. Which is an inherently different situation and allows all of us to hold the whining until there is a report.
