This is another Trump and autocratic game. Accuse others of doing what you've done in order to soften the ground when everyone finds out that you are the one who actually did what you accused others of doing.

This seems to be pretty recent, too. He never used to be like this. What is it about some people, when they start to "lose it", they turn right politically?

There's another reason: re-election.

Bob Casey, a well-liked 3 term moderate Catholic Democrat, lost his Senate election in 2024 by 15,000 votes. Trump beat Harris by 120,000.

Fetterman is trying to play Manchin, in order to appeal to swing voters. "I'm a Democrat, but I'm like you. I can work with Trump!".

Self-interest before country. Another Susan Collins.
