There is no question that the GQP and Trumpers are the living, breathing embodiment of cognitive dissonance that may be partly put down to mental illness.

But many of them have also been programmed from a young age to accept that it is perfectly acceptable behaviour by their churches and others in positions of moral and intellectual authority.

This has been greatly exacerbated by social media and the naked hypocrisy elevated to virtue of the demi-gods created by all media.

Some like guy and so many of the others in this thread are exposed and become the poster kids.

The tone of the article was shocking to me. This guy had all sorts of red flags, yet he's portrayed as a kind caring Dad- "amazing man", until the day he tried to kill three of his kids?

Ah, yes. The State was prepared to send him to prison, where he would get three squares, room and lodging and free healthcare (albeit usually substandard quality). But could he find the mental health care he needed before a conviction? Probably not.

This year, he plead guilty to an indecent exposure incident from 2020. He was supposed to be sentenced the morning of the shooting.
His family didn't want to speak on it, but they say there is more to the story.

The picture, the social media posts, the history of mental illness, the pending conviction and no one had the presence of mind to lock up his guns or seek an involuntary commitment?

Behavioural changes after a stroke are so common and I imagine that this will be his get out of jail free card although this is a little more extreme than most of the cases I am aware of.

The big orange baby has been making threats over the government shutdown. One threat is that he won't pay government workers back pay when the shutdown is over.

He apparently forgot that a previous President, one named "Donald Trump", signed a law back in 2019 that guaranteed back pay for government workers who were furloughed during a shutdown.

OMB (aka shadow President Russ Vought) is trying to claim that Congress must approve back pay. Apparently, dementia and forgetfulness is contagious?

What a totally bizarre statement by Shapiro. First, any educated person wouldn't assume doctor meant medical degree. Second, you have a stroke, so you're not thinking anything about the people at your table. Third, it's a medical emergency, period. You didn't make some decision to stay and dine because you'd have immediate medical support if anything untoward happened.

Just a fail on so many levels.

But as a graduate in Law, he must be fully aware that a Doctor of Laws degree is a thing.
