Mace was out and about doing interviews on TV and radio this week. This is the general script for her interviews that I heard:
  • "I care about these women who were victims of rich and powerful men".
  • "Let's talk for 10 minutes about how I'm a victim and how horrible all the men (who I insist on naming) sexually abused me."
  • "I stand for women"
  • "But back to me..."
  • "Did I mention that I'm a victim of sexual abuse?"
  • "I'm running for governor of South Carolina".
  • "President Trump is soooo wonderful. He's on the side of all women! He's great! He cares about women who were victims of sexual abuse! I call him all the time. He's my good friend. He's great. He's the best President ever!"

I anticipate a line of people to primary Rep Higgins.

Then again, Rep Higgins represents the oil coast of Louisiana- that part of the Gulf Coast that is inhabited by swamp rats and people whose homes are periodically flooded or washed away in hurricanes. He is an example of true representative democracy.
 
The US House is taking action on two Representatives from Florida (surprise!) who are in legal hot water. Florida, the National Deplorable and Porn Actor Factory.

Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick [D-FL] took over the north Broward County district that was previously represented by Alcee Hastings who died of pancreatic cancer in 2021. The district (FL20) includes Fort Lauderdale and is situated between Miami and Palm Beach. She's in trouble for campaign finance irregularities, accused of diverting FEMA funds to her family businesses and then using the money to fund her Congressional campaign.

Cory Mills [R-FL] has previously been mentioned in the Deplorables thread. He's a piece of work. He lied about his military career, claiming that he had awards and medals that he was never awarded. He beat up his girlfriend, who is not the woman that he is married to. He's a racist and he owned a company that produced tear gas, bragging that his tear gas used on Black Lives Matter protestors. He represents FL-7, which is a little further up the coast from Cherifilus-McCormick's district- it's the Daytona and New Smyrna Beach area.

Apparently this guy is openly racist and his valor medals were obtained under false circumstances. He's the embodiment of MAGA Republicans in the Trump era. The swamp is so foul around Trump's White House that a guy like Cory Mills not only gets elected, he will be allowed to stay in Congress because sexually assaulting women, lying about your military career and cheating on your wife are now normal.

He filed for re-election for 2026 and was running unopposed for the Democratic primary. Then mysteriously, García's Chief of Staff, Patty García, filed for the seat just hours before the deadline to file. After she filed and after the deadline, Chuy García withdrew from the race, saying that he was resigning to "spend more time with his family". The timing left his Chief of Staff running unopposed, guaranteeing that she will be the next House member for Chuy's seat.

I'm a little surprised that this investigation is coming out of Donald Trump's Department of Justice.

If this Grand Jury finds the charges true, then this will kill the Letiticia James, Adam Schiff and Eric Swallwell investigations. It will also begin another round of retribution. The leak of the Grand Jury investigation also signals that someone is making sure that, even in the event of a no bill from the Jury, there is sufficient cause to question how these cases were handled.

The Justice Department is investigating possible issues with the mortgage fraud investigation into California Democratic Sen. Adam Schiff that is run by two Trump administration political appointees, Ed Martin and Bill Pulte.

One witness, a Republican from California named Christine Bish, spoke to a federal grand jury in Maryland on Thursday morning. Investigators had sought information about the possibility that there was a person who claimed to be working for Pulte or Martin, but was not properly deputized, according to two sources familiar with the developing situation.

Andrew Johnson was arrested today for sexually molesting two teenage boys. He gave one of the boys an iPhone so that he could chat with him without his parent's knowledge. They used the phone to exchange pictures. Johnson also told the boy that Johnson was going get an award of $10 million from the government because Johnson was wrongfully convicted. Johnson told the boy he would leave the money to him in his will, as long as he didn't tell anyone about their relationship.

This molester was on the streets and was able to molest boys because Donald Trump pardoned him. He was pardoned even though he had a previous conviction in 2000 for rape of a child.

Rumor has it that Collins hired his mistress and paid her a salary, even though she didn't show up for her job or perform any appreciable services. The alleged employee is not Rep Collins' wife, who operates a trucking company that they own back in his home district in Georgia.
