And Let's not forget about the other Deplorables

Are Orthodox priests celibate?

If they want to be eligible for promotion, they are. Married Orthodox and Eastern Orthodox Catholic priests can only be in the lower ranks of the Church hierarchy.

I've never understood God's fixation on virginity.

It's not God. It's the guys at the top that don't want wives and children to inherit wealth that is needed for Church expenses... like feeding the poor and paying off all those legal settlements.

Exactly.

Then why do some of these same churches want women to be nothing more than baby factories, pumping out as many as possible?

Then why do some of these same churches want women to be nothing more than baby factories, pumping out as many as possible?

More church members to pay tithes.

More 'souls' to push back on the liberal non-believer 'agenda'.

Then why do some of these same churches want women to be nothing more than baby factories, pumping out as many as possible?
It's not the churches. It's the men. It goes back to the Torah... "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and rule over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the sky and over all the beasts that tread upon the earth" and to Noah and the Ark, "And you, be fruitful and multiply; swarm upon the earth and multiply thereon".

They've been swarming ever since.

Because that's the "heterosexual agenda."
Like any dirty job, someone has to do it. ;)

At this point I'm entirely convinced that there is NO other major political party in the entire Western Hemisphere, even including the parties headed by Bolsanero and Raul Castro, or political parties in places like Venezuela or Honduras, that have more SEETHING, UTTER HATRED FOR THE UNITED STATES than Republicans. I'd argue, in fact, that (other than North Korea) there is probably no other political party anywhere on this planet with such absolute hatred for the United States. I don't even think Iran or such places can top that.

Republicans are so eager to turn the United States into a huge, lawless and chaotic Somalia.

It would appear that a prominent gay conservative named Dave Rubin has pissed off a lot of his own kind by sharing the news that he and his husband are having babies via surrogates.

The pearl clutching was over the top and the condemnations swift. Some of the fans reactions have been not nice to say the least.

Today's winner, Evan Neuman.

What kind of garbage do you actually have to be to flee to Belarus for asylum?

Evan Neumann is under federal indictment in the U.S. for more than a dozen charges related to last year's Capitol insurrection. But Belarus, a Russian ally and neighbor to Ukraine, has granted him asylum, saying he is under its protection indefinitely.

It makes one wonder if some of his personal financing and support might have come from outside the US?

Rampant voter fraud! :rotflmao:

Why Did Mark Meadows Register to Vote at an Address Where He Did Not Reside? [New Yorker]
Mark Meadows, who grew up in Florida, moved to North Carolina in the nineteen-eighties and opened Aunt D’s, a sandwich shop in Highlands. He later sold the restaurant and started a real-estate company with a line in vacation properties... He became active in local Republican politics, and, in 2012, ran for Congress and won, going on to represent North Carolina’s Eleventh District until March, 2020, when he resigned the seat to become President Donald Trump’s chief of staff. Earlier that month, he sold his twenty-two-hundred-square-foot home in Sapphire. He and his wife, Debbie, also had a condo in Virginia, near Washington, D.C. But, as the summer passed and the election neared, Meadows had not yet purchased a new residence in what had been his home state.

On September 19th, about three weeks before North Carolina’s voter-registration deadline for the general election, Meadows filed his paperwork. On a line that asked for his residential address—“where you physically live,” the form instructs—Meadows wrote down the address of a fourteen-by-sixty-two-foot mobile home in Scaly Mountain. He listed his move-in date for this address as the following day, September 20th.

Meadows does not own this property and never has. It is not clear that he has ever spent a single night there.

Wife of Mark Meadows appears to have used invalid address on North Carolina voter forms [CNN]
Debra Meadows, the wife of former congressman and Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows, signed voter forms attesting she resided at a Macon County, North Carolina, mobile home that reports indicate the couple never lived in.

On registration forms, both Debra and Mark Meadows indicated their residency at the Scaly Mountain mobile home would begin September 20, 2020 -- one day after their voter registration forms were dated.

The North Carolina voter registration form instructs a person to provide their residential address -- "where you physically live." It is signed "under penalty of perjury." A person is also required to check a box indicating whether they have lived at the address for 30 or more days. If not, a person must list the date they moved to that residence. Both Mark and Debra Meadows checked "no" and listed September 20, 2020.

This one was so bad that even spineless apologist Kevin McCartney said he should resign... although it's a safe Republican seat that the Republicans don't have to worry about losing.

Rep. Jeff Fortenberry resigns after being found guilty of lying to FBI [WaPo]
Rep. Jeff Fortenberry (R-Neb.) said Saturday that he will resign from Congress after he was convicted Thursday on three felony counts for lying to federal investigators about illegal campaign contributions from a foreign billionaire.

In a letter to his House colleagues, Fortenberry said his last day in Congress will be March 31...

Fortenberry’s charges stem from a 2016 fundraiser held in Glendale, Calif., for the congressman’s reelection. There, Fortenberry received donations totaling $30,200 from Gilbert Chagoury, a wealthy Nigerian business executive of Lebanese descent who used other people as conduits to make the contributions, the U.S. attorney’s office for the Central District of California announced in October.

Hillsong Church originated in Australia. Since its founding, it has opened churches in several countries including the US. The church is known for it's "conservative values", including an anti-LGBT reputation and it refuses to conduct same-sex marriages.

Hillsong has a church in LA that has become the new Scientology for trendy celebrities, including Justin Bieber & Hailey Baldwin Bieber, Chris Pratt & Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt, Taylor Lautner, Selena Gomez, Tyler Perry, Tyson Chandler, Kylie Jenner & Kendall Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Hailee Steinfeld, Nick Jonas, Vanessa Hudgens & Austin Butler.

The pastor of the LA church, Carl Lentz was in the tabloids back in 2017 for his "hands-on" personal ministry to Justin Bieber:

Lentz was recently fired from the church for having "inappropriate relationships" with persons who were not his wife, including rumored sexual relationships with unnamed celebrities.

Several of the celebrities who attend the church have had gay rumors circulating about them in the past. After attending the church, the celebrities meet the straight "love of their lives" and get engaged/married.

The Rise and Fall of Carl Lentz, the Celebrity Pastor of Hillsong Church [NY Times]
In the summer of 2017, the singer Justin Bieber abruptly canceled the remainder of a concert tour that had taken him across six continents in 16 months. Mr. Bieber cited fatigue; his fans fretted. But on the tabloid website TMZ, a more hopeful narrative quickly emerged. The 23-year-old singer left the tour because he “rededicated his life to Christ” thanks to a pastor named Carl Lentz, leader of the New York City branch of the global megachurch Hillsong. The pastor and the pop star were inseparable, the gossip site reported. Two days later, the site reported that Mr. Bieber saw Mr. Lentz “as a 2nd father.”...

On Nov. 4, Brian Houston, the founder of Hillsong, announced he had fired Mr. Lentz, citing “leadership issues and breaches of trust, plus a recent revelation of moral failures” in an email to churchgoers. The day after the announcement, Mr. Lentz confessed on Instagram, where he has almost 700,000 followers: “I was unfaithful in my marriage, the most important relationship in my life.”

And because it always ends in a sex scandal...

Hillsong Church Fostered “Inappropriate Sexual Behavior,” According to A 2018 Internal Complaint [Vanity Fair]
Since Carl Lentz was fired from Hillsong Church in November over his cheating scandal, the megachurch has faced a number of allegations about its culture. Page Six added to the growing pile on Thursday night, reporting that in 2018, a group of “high-level” volunteers sent a letter to ministry leaders claiming that there were “verified, widely circulated stories of inappropriate sexual behavior amongst staff/interns” at the church.
