So after 9 yrs does that $300,000 include interest?
Ironically, Paxton pulled this stunt when he was still a member of the Texas Legislature. Some of the people he screwed out of thousands of dollars were also members of the Legislature.

Fast forward 8 years and Paxton is in front of the same Legislature in an impeachment trial where he is accused of cheating on his wife (who is now a member of the Texas Senate) with a cute young blonde who was an aide to a different Texas Senator. He was acquitted because the rich evangelical billionaires who are Paxton's sponsors threatened to back primary challengers to any Republican who voted to convict.

To be such a big State, Texas sure has a lot of incestuous relationships in its politics.

And it took the State, on behalf of the people of Texas, 9 years to let him off on something that would have probably sent you and me to prison.

It helps when you get to know where all the bodies are buried.

And you are happy to be owned and operated by rich and powerful people.

Just a reminder: Matt Schlapp and his organization have been sued because Matt likes to get drunk and fondle male staffers. Allegedly. The organization has spent over $1 millon on covering up Schlapp's diddling with the male staffers.
Well, well, well...

"I've been exonerated. Our insurance company paid him $480,000 but not because I fondled him! It's the left wing media that fondled him!"

The Republican operative who accused American Conservative Union chairman Matt Schlapp of sexual assault last year received a significant financial settlement in exchange for dropping his lawsuit against Schlapp, multiple sources familiar with the case told CNN.

The $480,000 settlement was paid to Carlton Huffman through an insurance policy, according to a source familiar with the details. Schlapp’s legal team did not respond for comment when asked about the financial settlement, but on Tuesday said that Huffman dropped the lawsuit and Schlapp claimed he had been exonerated.

“From the beginning, I asserted my innocence,” Schlapp said in a statement. “Our family was attacked, especially by a left-wing media that is focused on the destruction of conservatives regardless of the truth and the facts.”

FTX co-founder Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) has been on house arrest in California since December while awaiting trial on fraud and money laundering charges over the crypto exchange’s collapse, but today he was sent to jail, as first reported by Inner City Press. Judge Lewis A. Kaplan ordered the former billionaire remanded after prosecutors pushed to have his bail revoked, citing violations that included Bankman-Fried’s admitted usage of VPN software that he said was to watch an NFL game and the judge’s view that he had attempted to tamper with witnesses “at least twice.”...

I guess that watching a football game is more important than your freedom?

25 year sentence. And a haircut, hopefully.

And this is the sad, bloated face of yet another sociopathic grifter and con man who was the darling of so many for far too long.

Maybe he can bunk in with Martin Skrelli.

Skrelli got out early toward the end of the pandemic. He was sent to a halfway house and is reportedly living in Queens.

Because Skrelli is a true deplorable, he somehow got enough money together to hire a lawyer to try to get his Pharma ban lifted so that he could "get back in the game". His attempt was rebuffed.

And now he's going after PFLAG.

A court in Texas has blocked Attorney General Ken Paxton’s demand that PFLAG National turn over information and documents about its support of families in Texas seeking gender-affirming medical care for transgender youth.

The Travis County District Court granted a temporary injunction against Paxton’s office Monday. The court had already issued a temporary restraining order in the case, but it is set to expire Friday.

Paxton, an intensely anti-LGBTQ+ Republican, issued a demand in early February for the organization to turn over documents, communications, and other information related to its work with these families. This would include the names and addresses of trans youth members. PFLAG National is a plaintiff in two lawsuits filed against Texas’s restrictions on gender-affirming care for trans youth — its ban on this care and an order from Gov. Greg Abbott that families allowing their children to undergo it be investigated for child abuse.

Ah, the good old days...

I see that Mike Lindell is getting evicted from one of his warehouses after months of not paying rent.

I read about that yesterday and laughed, and then I wondered if he could afford the rent on that medicine cabinet he used to pop up in all the time.

Well, I'm sure he finds a way to afford his other habits They always do.

What happens if you're a white guy who votes illegally nine times:

A judge found that a Georgia GOP official and conservative talk show host who claimed that the 2020 election was “stolen” repeatedly committed voter fraud himself.

Georgia Administrative Law Judge Lisa Boggs ruled Wednesday that Brian Pritchard, the first vice chairman of Georgia’s Republican Party, violated state election law after voting unlawfully nine times from 2008 to 2010 while on probation for a felony sentence.

Boggs fined him $5,000 — $500 for each illegal vote and an additional $500 for unlawful voter registration — and said he must receive a public reprimand from the Georgia election board.

What happens if you're a black woman who attempts to vote illegally one time:

...Texas’ Crystal Mason, who cast a provisional ballot in the 2016 elections while on supervised release for a federal conviction. She didn’t know she was ineligible to vote, and her ballot was never counted, but Mason — a Black woman — was nevertheless convicted of illegal voting and sentenced to five years in prison.

Mason has been out of prison on an appeal bond, and as NBC News reported, she yesterday received the news she’s been wanting to hear for several years: A Texas appeals court overturned Mason’s five-year prison sentence.

You see the backlash everywhere on social media ....but Trump doesn't care. This is just another megaphone to reach his constituency and make some cash.

:rotflmao:

That tells you clearly who they think are "real Americans."
