Lying is bipartisan. The alacrity, scope and breadth may be more the feature of the modern Republican Party.
Mike Johnson came to power with claims of being a devout evangelical Christian.
What bothers me more is the close association between Christianity and the Republican Party and how the pursuit of power has become more important than moral values that Christians used to claim... like not telling a lie or bearing false witness. The definition of "deplorable".
Amoral religiosity is the danger.
Deceit is republican policy. Of course, you find bipartisan lying. The point is, deceit has become an accepted, built-in, policy standard operating tool of the republican party as a whole to achieve their objectives. It has become part of their functional paradigm. Not so with the Democratic Party. Individual Democrats lying is not the same thing. Deceit has become republican DNA.
