A former Texas megachurch pastor and spiritual adviser to Donald Trump was indicted Wednesday in Oklahoma for alleged child sex crimes.

Robert Morris faces five counts of lewd or indecent acts to a child, with the alleged crimes dating back to December 1982, according to a press release from the state attorney general’s office.

That Christmas, the indictment alleges, Morris engaged in sexual misconduct with a 12-year-old girl whose family he was visiting as a traveling evangelist. He was 20 at the time.

Last year, Cindy Clemishire came forward with accusations that Morris had sexually abused her in the 1980s, starting when she was 12 years old. Morris was allegedly a 21-year-old visiting evangelist. He was married, and he and his wife had a young child.

On June 18, 2024, after Clemishire’s story was published by The Wartburg Watch, Morris resigned as pastor of his Texas megachurch.

The alleged sexual misconduct began in December 1982, when Morris was visiting the child's family in Hominy, Okla., for Christmas, and continued for four years. The alleged victim was 12 years old at the time, the Oklahoma Attorney General said in a press release.

Terrance Elliot was already a convicted felon when he became pastor of Aboard the Ship of Zion in San Bernardino, California. Now, he faces 11 new felonies and a possible 20-year prison sentence.

Elliot was arrested March 6 following a grand jury indictment for allegedly swindling several “long-time friends” and a nonprofit out of more than $230,000, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Central District of California.

The statement outlined multiple schemes allegedly hatched between September 2018 and February 2023.

In one case, Elliot convinced a friend, identified as “M.C.,” to let him manage her inheritance money, “claiming that she would lose her Medicare and Social Security benefits if she directly received the inheritance.”
