There are two Senators who are running for re-election who are ranked as being at high risk for losing their seat, either in a primary or in the general in 2026: Jon Ossoff [R-GA] and Susan "I will only serve for 2 terms" Collins [R-ME]. If the Dems can get their act together, and not run a crazy guy or a senior citizen, they could flip the seat.

Meanwhile, expect that Susan Collins will look like a seal performing in a circus for the next year.

Collins is one of the most corrupt senators ever to sit in the chamber. God knows how much she's squirreled away in PAC dosh and bribes over the years, but it is known to be a comfy amount.

But it is her cupidity and naked spinelessness that continue to mark her out for additional censure.

She really doesn't do anything of note for Maine, including her inability to protect them from the huge loss of tourism dollars and premiums piad because of the tariffs against Canada.

The Dems would have to run the perfect candidate against her and at the moment, as usual, the guy running to beat her is also flawed.

My money is on the bet that she won't be primaried and the Mainiacs will vote her in again, because they are more opposed to brown and black people sneaking into their state...and of the raging socialism beyond their north borders than they are of looking like fools for voting her to represent them.

Collins is one of the most corrupt senators ever to sit in the chamber.

I wouldn't say that she's more corrupt. That would be like saying that she's the deadest corpse at the morgue.

She is a petty, vindictive, entrenched politician who will do anything to keep her Senate seat. At 72, she should be retiring but she knows she is a critical vote in a narrow majority, so she leverages her votes, not for principle or to represent her constituents but instead to gain a disproportionate amount of power for a lovely State that has 0.4% of the total population of the US but contributes only 0.24% of the annual US GDP.

We should always remember that Collins was a sponsor of the Equality Act. Now that she needs to appeal to MAGA and after she got some big donations from anti-LGBT groups, she has backed away from sponsoring the Act and she likely would not vote for it if it were ever able to get a vote in the Senate. It's an example of how she says one thing but ultimately does whatever it takes to keep her seat in the Senate.
