Hip-hop artist Murs kisses a guy at the close of his new music video. Then again, he also kills a guy (and himself) earlier in the video, and I don't think that means he's coming out as a murderer...

murs is a clown. i couldn't take that dude seriously after the 2008 election and when he started rolling around with the flattened out doo doo dreads looking like a full grown weedhead. my brother likes his music and actually brought his murs 3:16 record #-o he likes to support these "underground rap stars" like mf doom (another nutjob), little brother (they're good when they actually step outside of the two dimensional music that they do), and others but i never liked murs music personally. the west coast underground rap scene doesn't do it for me at all. jurassic 5 and dilatated people to me are terrible especially jurassic 5. can't stand those dudes.

if anything, murs is stepping his publicity game up. he did something else before the gay marriage video. dunno if you remember it but i believe he got arrested for what he did too. i know he was trying to do some d'angelo "how does it feel?" bullshit on his last album cover. he wasn't looking sexy at all. he looked more like he was off his meds with that stupid smile on his face.

i know it may sound like i'm hating or dissing the guy but that's just how i feel about him.

When it comes to Hip Hop, I'm a fuckin' thesaurus. I own all of Murs earlier work, up to his album "Fornever" but this is my first time hearing of this song/video. Anyone that is "passable" for gay or straight can relate to it. He painted a story and did a good job of it, the video only added to it for people that aren't able to catch lyrics as effortlessly as most hip hop heads.

I understand where you're coming from. West Coast underground can tend to be a bit boring at times, the lyrics drag on, I think the last good group I used to listen to from the coast was Tha Alkaholiks, but obviously that was years ago. & The Pharcyde.

I think all regions tend to get monotonousness at times, but I still have to love the fact they aren't conforming to that mainstream, polished up shit that passes for 'Hip Hop' today.

never really heard the alkaholics music even though i heard they were good. funny how most of the loud music artists music was really good while on the label from three 6 mafia to wu tang. i've heard the pharcyde. not a fan of their first album but their second is the one that i mess with. there's tons of joints on that record that i like. in fact, i'm going to play the second track right now.

and yeah, you're most definitely right about regions being monotonous at times to the point it's incredibly annoying. just like how the south has been for some years especially with the lex luger type of beats that have heavy bass and sound way too overdramatic where it's laughable as well as the rappers form out of there. before that, it was lil jon and those wack ass simple beats like freak a leak and yeah. to this day, i think usher's "yeah" record was terrible production wise. just like the scott storched produced record "lean back". those were two of the worse produced records i've ever heard. it's way too simple production wise. anybody could make a beat like that.

but yeah, the west coast scene to me was never really all that to begin with. you might have a good album or a good record or two come out of there but that's like once in a blue moon. now you have kendrick lamar and his homies doing their thing. i like that record him and dr. dre did.

and smh @ detox never coming out too. that shit popped off record that leaked some years ago that was in that dr. pepper commercial he did a year or two ago would have been a hit if dre wasn't trying too damn hard to be a perfectionist. those two records he put out "kush" and "i need a doctor" especially "i need a doctor" were eyyyyyy. alex da kid and skylar grey made that record ten times worse than what dre did. the video was laughable too.

Sarah Silverman sample!

I'm glad the song and video exist but I never want to hear that shit again.
