Anyone else disappointed with the film?

I mean, films seldom live up to the expectations the novel has engendered, but to leave out whole plot lines?

Obviously, length of the film is a factor, but I dunno. This film gets a 3/5 rating from me.

I actually liked this book much more than the davinci code and was hoping the movie would be better.

From what I'm hearing, though, that is not at all the case.

Well the biggest problem was that they could not get actual rights to film in many of the places the movie actually takes place.

It was ok for what they could with it as far as time constraints. I always think if was good enough for the author , it's good enough for me.

Haven't seen the movie yet but looking forward to seeing it.

I read Dan Brown's novel and enjoyed it. I'm also looking forward to Dan Brown's next novel about Robert Langdon which is coming out in September 2009.

The Davinci Code was an amazing book. The film was horrible. They left so much out. I was very disappointed. I loved Angels and Demons too. I'm afraid that Ron Howard will allow history to repeat itself. I hope this movie doesn't suck. I'm looking forward to Dan Brown's next book "The Lost Symbol" I think it's about the Masons. It is supposed to be released September 15th of this year and has the largest first edition quantity ever, 5,000,000 copies. Still scared to be disappointed about the recent film.

I cant believe they completely left out the biological father/son connection between the Pope and the Camerlengo. That, in my opinion, was the best part of the book not the fact that the Camerlengo was behind all of it because to be honest I was suspicious of him midway through the book.

Disappointed is an understatement ... I preferred the book to this film ... quite often the film does the book justice but in this case the film was hopeless ... and what is it with the change in the ending. At least make the ending of the book the same and not make something up completly.

In my case I would give this 1.5/5 ... if you are planning on seeing the movie I would wait until it comes out on DVD and then hire it from your local store because then you wont be wasting as much money. I expect that it will only last about 1 week at the cinemas before being pulled.

Totally agree with you mate. They even left out the fact that Vittoria's research partner was her dad and what about the head of Cern? He wasn't even mentioned in the film.

If you've read the book, don't waste your money on the movie. To me, Tom Hanks was totally miscast. The actress who played Vittoria was wasted in a thankless role. On top of that, they really tried to be politically correct with the killer's part (if you've read the book, you know what I mean).

I went to the theatre to see "The Davinci Code" and went to sleep...I was gonna give "Angels/Demons" a chance until I saw Tom & Ron trying their best to descrube the story & plot during interviews and I KNEW it was going to be another "sleeper" like the first flick...

I'll catch it on HBO in a couple of months...

It's the largest first print run for Random House. The seventh Harry Potter had a first print run of 12 million.

The book ending is not the same as the movie? Someone tell me how it ends in the movie since its not worth watching.
