The anti-semetic attack is the final straw for some.

Personally, I can't wait til someone pushes her in front of a truck.

SCHAKOWSKY CONDEMNS ANN COULTER’S REMARKS

Washington, D.C.—U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), a Chief Deputy Whip, released the following statement in response to Ann Coulter’s anti-Semitic remarks on Donny Deutsch’s CNBC show “The Big Idea.”

“Last night, columnist Ann Coulter stooped to yet another low when she made anti-Semitic remarks on Donny Deutsch's CNBC show "The Big Idea.” Coulter’s remarks are an insult to anyone who respects religious freedom and diversity.

Ann Coulter said that it would be better if we were all Christian. Later in the program, she went on to say that “Christians consider themselves: perfected Jews.” Ms. Coulter’s remarks demonstrate her lack of understanding and respect for other religions (see transcript below).

While this may be just another stunt by Ann Coulter to promote her new book, I believe her anti-Semitic remarks are hurtful and damaging. This is not the first time that Coulter has made insensitive and ignorant remarks concerning other religions. It is pathetic that the only way Coulter can sell books is to create controversy by make outrageous and offensive remarks about non-Christians.

While Coulter may say that she did not mean to offend Mr. Deutsch or people of Jewish faith, her remarks fuel the same type of hatred and anti-Semitism that Jews have been battling for thousands of years. Along with Donny Deutsch, I am deeply offended.”

EXCERPTS FROM TRANSCRIPT:

COULTER: Well, OK, take the Republican National Convention. People were happy. They're Christian. They're tolerant. They defend America, they —
DEUTSCH: Christian — so we should be Christian? It would be better if we were all Christian?
COULTER: Yes.
DEUTSCH: We should all be Christian?
COULTER: Yes. Would you like to come to church with me, Donny?

COULTER: No, we think — we just want Jews to be perfected, as they say.
DEUTSCH: Wow, you didn't really say that, did you?
COULTER: Yes. That is what Christianity is. We believe the Old Testament, but ours is more like Federal Express. You have to obey laws. We know we're all sinners

DEUTSCH: Welcome back to "The Big Idea." During the break, Ann said she wanted to explain her last comment. So I'm going to give her a chance. So you don't think that was offensive?
COULTER: No. I'm sorry. It is not intended to be. I don't think you should take it that way, but that is what Christians consider themselves: perfected Jews.

This is retarded, she is an attention whoring cash cow who vomits offensive comments whenever she can so her books can top the New York Best Seller's list, and continue being the despicable, loud tranny she is.

"I talk a lot of shit about a lot of people. Even I don't fuck with the Jews. Alright? No. I don't do it. I don't do it. I don't fuck with the Jews, the lesbians, or Barbara Walters, that's what I do."

I never know how much of what she says is what she truly believes, and how much is just hype to sell her books and herself as a speaker for hire.

The very sad thing is that there are many, many people who will agree with her and boost her sales even more.

I don't know what's up with Coulter. I used to get a kick out of some of her stuff. I heard a bit of a debate the other day between her and Susan Estrich. Normally I would expect that to be a pretty good show, but Coulter sounded like she was only half there. She didn't have any good laughs and even seemed to struggle to put Estrich in her place. That's not exactly a hard job. Reading that transcript above kinda has the same tone. It's not humorous and doesn't really make sense. And I've never known Coulter to back up and explain herself. I really wonder if she's not self-destructing.

If Ann Coulter really believes what she says, she is an ignorant bigoted craven, hateful, shameless dumbass wth no credibility. If she doesn't,she's a cynical craven demagogic shameless dumbass with no credibility.Either way,she is way past her fifteen minutes on the stage.

/imagines ann coulter being eviscerated by a determined pack of velociraptors

oh! that's a happy thought. :)

oh please. She said a lot worse before.

CNN Story
WASHINGTON (CNN) – Conservative commentator and best-selling author Ann Coulter may find herself in the midst of a controversy for comments Monday suggesting America would be better if everyone was Christian.

Asked by CNBC host Donny Deutsch what the U.S. looks like in her dreams, Coulter said it would look like the Republican National Convention in 2004

"People were happy,” she said, according to a transcript provided to CNN by CNBC. “They're Christian. They're tolerant. They defend America."

When Deutsch responded, "It would be better if we were all Christian?" Coulter said "Yeah."

Deutsch, himself Jewish, continued to press Coulter on her remarks, asking, "We should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians then?"

"Yeah," Coulter responded, adding "Well, it's a lot easier. It's kind of a fast track."

"You can't possibly believe that," Deutsch responded. “You can’t possibly. You’re too educated.”

"Do you know what Christianity is?" Coulter replied. "See, we believe your religion, but you have to obey. We have the fast track program."

Later in the interview Deutsch asked Coulter if she doesn't want any Jews in the world, Coulter responded, "No, we think — we just want Jews to be perfected, as they say."

"Wow, you didn't really say that, did you," Deutsch said.

Deutsch, a Jew, told her he was offended. She didn't back down a bit. . . she just didn't get it.

I could never take Coulter seriously and the people who do, play into her success. She thrives on controversay and it sells a hell of of lot of her ridiculous books. To me, she is just another rightwing extremist GOP mouthpiece (like Sean Hannity) who is grabbing as much money as she can while it lasts. Coulter is "fad", a bi-product neocon hybrid. She will wear off and then you'll never see or hear her again. And she knows that. She's just milking it while the milking is good. I ignore her and when I see her on a program I just reach for the remote control. What Coulter has to say has little or no impact on anything. It's all propaganda and tabloid. She's the "Hanoi Hanna" of the 21st century.

Wait... if God wrote/dictated the bible wouldn't the Old Testament be more accurate (or perfect)?

I don't know if it's safe to call her a fad, as she's been publishing bestsellers (5 so far) for nearly 10 years. In the long run, she probably won't be remembered by many, but for now she has a serious influence over her readers, a distressing large group of voters.

Here's an interesting article that was written just after her last book:

What a stupid cartoonish bitch.

I really would like to hear what she has to say about Nazi Germany and the Holocaust.

My father, a staunch Republican, said "she's done!" This cunt has drawn her last breath, I hope!

The article simply says that she's preaching to the choir. 400,000 hardcover sales for a book is hardly a national mandate but it's her circle of followers that will repeatedly buy, read and believe everything she says/writes. Stephan King sells 20 times that. The Times is right. She is a leading political writer...for the far right...and despite 5 books...I still think a "fad". For the past 10 years, it's all the same people reading those books. As the Times says, she is not winning on the political front. It's just all about her...which was my point.
