This has been out there for a couple of days and if it's been posted, sorry to duplicate. But it is just too fine not to have brought it to your attention.

Anne Hathaway, who was among the stars hitting the red carpet in Hollywood last night for the premiere of Valentine's Day, says in the new British GQ that her family left the Catholic Church over its intolerant views on homosexuality.Anne grew up wanting to become a nun but shunned Catholicism when she learned her older brother, Michael, was gay.
"The whole family converted to Episcopalianism after my elder brother came out," she tells the magazine. "Why should I support an organization that has a limited view of my beloved brother?"

I've always loved Anne Hathaway; now I love her more.

And her and her family's attitude towards gays, having been changed or informed by a member of their family being gay, just underlines another reason why people should come out to their families and communities. People very frequently change their views when it's a One of Us who is affected, rather than a One of Them.

Suddenly I care for Anne a little more. Then again she was good in the devil wears prada.

Every time I have a soft spot for a celeb, I hope that they are openly supportive of the LGBT community. I've always found Anne to be very sweet, so I'm glad to hear about her views on this issue :-)

I've always thought she was lovely - very reserved - did her thing - gave excellent performances - and now I love her even more.

YAY!

Hehe. "Kiss each other."

I love Anne Hathaway, I think she's awesome. I love that she's a GLBT ally. I have the sudden urge to watch "The Devil Wears Prada." :D
