Anne Heche: The Anne. The Coke. The Crash. The Coma

Re: The Anne. The Coke. The Crash. The Coma

/\ For the occupant to receive injuries, the vehicle must have at least partially entered the home.

The car doors could have been pinned, and there may have been concern of building collapse, as well.

Re: The Anne. The Coke. The Crash. The Coma

what happened that it took 59 firefighters an hour to get her out of the car

It's not like the movies where the muscley firefighters pull up and heroically yank em out. especially if they're coked up and, ya know, inside a house.

As

[Anne Heche's] cause and manner of death have been determined by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's office.

According to its website, the office ruled that the actress died due to "inhalation and thermal injuries" and that her death was an accident.

Heche also suffered a sternal fracture due to blunt trauma, the office said, but it did not attribute this as a cause of her death.

Anne Heche's death ruled an accident, cause of death revealed by medical examiner (USA Today; August 17, 2022)

Like Paul Walker, she burned to death (almost) by the sounds of it. There was little reporting of the alcohol bottle seen in the car

In a 'related death', Kobe Bryant's death photos were described as a 'pile of meat'. Who would say that about someone? Very insensitive.

One thing about mental illness/trauma/addiction is that it saddles you with an additional burden: responsibility. Responsibility to tend to yourself and your issues as well as to not hurt those around you. This is a mighty tall order; in many cases it's nearly impossible to live up to this responsibility, especially if you don't have the resources. Heche was surrounded by wealth, fame and privilege. This woman had every resource imaginable available to her and she still fucked up and hurt someone.

Probably more than the one we know of.

Are we saying then that a woman who, 40 years after allegedly being raped by her father (a claim disputed by members of her family), crashes her car into someone's house whilst high on cocaine, killing herself and seriously injuring a woman in the house, should not be considered responsible for her own actions?

But of course, and all at the same time, she was enjoying white privilege and needs to pay reparations.
