Annoying Habits of Jubbers

Members who post inflammatory shit, then sit back and watch the chairs fly.

Members who post inflammatory shit, get called on it, and post ad hominem as responses.

Members who post shit, until their next idea pops into their head, and then they're off posting shit in that forum/thread.

Members who see Jubbers as this:

Each one with our own beauty.

Seriously.

Some have thorns, some make my eyes itch, some make me think, some make me laugh, some inspire me, but taken as a whole they're all beautiful in their own way.

I'm annoyed when members strap on their boots and go stomping through that field of flowers because they feel like it's just "the internet" and "they can."

The chief annoying habit I find in other JUBBERS is virtuality. Real people are not just a collection of opinions, words, snarks, and flirts. They are human. They have strengths and weaknesses, but those all fall into place in a flesh-and-blood encounter.

Online, we are reduced to a few frames of our feature length presentations.

But, such is the medium.

We muddle on, unloved because we are not human here, just caricatures.

I think what you're addressing is a larger issue with internet forums, in general.

That being said, JUB, from what I've observed, does provide a means of creating a less anonymous experience here. I think that's partially why there's a current picture posting thread for members who want that closeness.

well a criticism , something I have observed here and elsewhere , perhaps it is a general effect of the internet , a problem for which I can see no solution . English is my first language , really my only language , and I have noticed judging from responses that I am quite often misunderstood . Sarcasm seems to be impossible . As I have put it before , if you are to be understood , if you are to make your point , you must be cold-bloodedly legalistic and concrete and make the same statement worded differently more than once . Avoid humour , sarcasm . In the past few years I have chatted , my main chat has been with people of considerable ability and learning in English but for whom English is not their first language . Perhaps this is a general problem of translation , to be really understood you can only communicate with people of roughly the same life and experience.

Then you explain what annoys you about Jubbers (plural as in all of us, as opposed to singular which would be one member).

Are you talking about members who quote you, then edit your post that they're quoting as if it was something that you actually said, or quoting what you said but out of context?

One is bad netique, and frowned upon here, the other is "if you wrote stand up for it."

I was surprised to find that most, if not all of the comments that you've received have been nice and supportive.



Considering the comments that you've received, it says to me that you're being disrespectful of those who took the time to comment.



Well, you made a broad sweeping generalization "Annoying Habits of Jubbers," then proceeded to discuss post habits that you've "observed."

So either you're speaking about specific members here (singular), or your discussing how you perceive JUbbers (plural) meaning all of us.

If this is an intellectual thread where we go about pointing out things, and working together to find a solution then lets get to it!

Not only do they hate you for disagreeing with them, their friends hate you, too. CE&P is a good example of grade school gang bullying mentality.
