The only thing I've ever heard from the radicals is that Barney Frank destroyed America because he got to be the Chairman of the Financial Services Cmt. and how "easy" loans he enacted ruined everything.
People forget that Republicans were in charge of the House up until January 2007 and Barney Frank only got his Chairmanship after the switchover.

How is it you ignored all of the Republican fuck-uppery, all of the transgressions: the fakery about WMD, the needless war in Iraq, the scandals involving billions of dollars and thousands of lives in Iraq, all of which you remained silent on or indeed defended, yet you focus on some minor stuff concerning Dodd?
So please, tell me, how is it that you ignore the big Republican stuff? Can you see where reasonable people would see a bit of good old hypocrisy at work here on your part?
Because even the minority party has the power to prevent things from leaving committee, like harsher regulation of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac:

Barney Frank and other key dems denied those two entities were facing any trouble or risk, when it was clear that they were.
Um, and in reading this article from 2003 (giggle!), Barney Frank's name isn't even in it -- he isn't mentioned, nor is Sen. Dodd.

We've been down this road before.
Various members have explained, with more patience than you deserve, how a determined minority can stall things in committee. If a bill doesn't get out of committee, it doesn't get to the floor.
I probably don't deserve an answer to this question and it very well may be over your head (in which case feel free to sidestep it) but could you explain to me why the current determined republican minority failed to stop Obama's stimulus package or failed to prevent the healthcare bill from being reported out of committee last week?
From their public comments it seems to me that had they the ability to stop it they would have.
I find your knowledge of U.S. House rules to be lacking.
