All through the campaign, Obama stated repeatly that he will not raise taxes on anyone making less than 250k.

Now his people are saying raising taxes on the middle class in on the table.

Two of President Barack Obama's economic heavyweights said middle-class taxes might have to go up to pare budget deficits or to pay for the proposed overhaul of the nation's health care system.

Just like George Bush I and his pledge of "read my lips, no new taxes", this will lead to Obama's downfall.

President Obama said in his State of the Union address that Americans earning less than $250,000 would pay "not one dime" in new taxes.

Just another lie told to the American people by its President.

, Obama may actually want to pay for his agenda while he's in office. Seems pretty selfless actually.

1, There is absolutely no way that Obama's 'agenda' can possibly be paid for while he's in office. Too many trillions.

2. Selfless? Oh, that's funny. Too funny. He's squandering other people's money, and the money of their children and grandchildren and probably their gr-gr-gr grandchildren as well.

How is squandering other peoples money selfless?

^ Henry, I take from your post that you're not happy that your taxes will be raised.

I respect your honesty, even though it was done shyly.

There you go, jumping to conclusions and 'assuming' things yet again.
As it happens, I don't pay income taxes any more, and haven't done so in some five years.

On the other hand, the costs of your obamination's plans, if fully executed, will be borne by everyone. Businesses will pass them along to their customers, such that, in the end, we will all be penalized for this worthless fool's socialist dreams.

Yeah, you're right; I assumed.

How did you get away with not paying any taxes at all? Tax-free municipal bonds?

Either way, you did this on purpose to avoid paying taxes, ergo, you don't like paying taxes.

Of course I don't like paying taxes, and I've never said otherwise.

. If the trillions get paid for with new taxes over the next 8 years lets say, that's a financial disaster our kids won't have to worry about.

There is no convincing proof that new taxes will pay for all the absurdities on the Obama agenda.

Tax and spend some more will be the order of the day.

If the economic situation improves, as it did with Clinton, than I think little heed would be paid to any of these tax hikes, especially if they're done early.

The Clinton 'improvement' was only temporary. He passed what was then the largest tax increase in history. That, coupled with the dot com bust sent the economy in a downward spiral.

That temporary improvement was better than anything the republicans have given us while they were in power and if Obama could replicate it today he'd win re-election by a wide margin.

And to the OP since Obama said today he won't raise taxes on the middle class this thread should read 'another justapixel lie'.

And you believed him? That being the case have I got a deal for you on some land in South Florida. I promise it's dry (some of the time). LOL

Typical bullshit Republican lie.

All of Clinton's boom years and the economy thriving wasn't because Clinton balanced the budget, and right sized the military, no it was Reagan's policies that gave him the boom. And of course the bust is all Clinton's fault that Bush had. And this collapse is Obama's recession caused by Barney Frank.

About some actual numbers from a Congressional Website?

http://www.house.gov/jec/growth/taxpol/taxpol.htm

Of course you won't believe the numbers since they contradict your preconceived notions.

They aren't absurdities so don't try to argue with me as though they are. .

I'm not arguing with you, I'm stating an absolute fact.

Get over it.

None of the things Obama has proposed fall within the realm of 'legitimate functions of government.' Most of them are probably unconstitutional.

I live in the real world which means I cannot accuse someone of lying until they actually tell a lie.

Did your mother teach you differently?

You live in a fantasy world where your Messiah speaks and you believe.

Sorry to burst your bubble - he's a politician and politicians lie, this one more than most so far.

Is there no end to the unsubstantiated opinions you hold?

True enough but in this instance we're talking about his promise to raise taxes on the middle class which he has to yet lie about.

BTW I'm still waiting for you to show me a republican president who gave us a better economy than Clinton.

Take your time I know its a tough one. ;)

Truth be told, if you want services from the government then you got to pay taxes. Sometimes the government does a better job of providing service (police, fire, etc.) Sometimes private industry does better. Personally I like having the option of good government and good industry.

His minions floated the notion of raising taxes on the middle class over the weekend, and are backing and filling now. That should give anyone pause.

Thats a fair point as is my point that a man should not be accused of lying until he actually tells a lie.

Yeah it may cost him votes among voters who have an oversimplistic black and white view of politics. People who think on higher planes might ask the question, why would Obama and Congress do it if they knew it would cost votes? Hmm. Perhaps because of the toll not acting on reducing deficit and debt would have on future generations. Unlike Bush who wanted to spend and leave the bill for the next administration, Obama may actually want to pay for his agenda while he's in office. Seems pretty selfless actually.

^ You have to be kidding. You really don't believe this do you?
