Burnouts Are For Kids
This one is pretty out of the ordinary for me musically and lyrically. We'll call it an experiment, but at least I can put some words and a title to "New Song #3" now. One of these days I'll get a recording up.
Falling Down
Tried to rip up your heart tonight
Gave my words an extra bite
Saw you curl up with fright
As I wound to strike you
But we made love just yesterday
Wonder if you’re just for play
Remember you touch my face and say
“Baby I love you”
Ask me why I’m doing this
Honey it’s my moment of bliss
Told you I don’t want your kiss
And I meant it
But we work hard to lovers be
You’re the whole world to me
We have such history
And I won’t end it
Running water at the sink
Splash my eyes, take a drink
Get a little dizzy and I think
“What has become of my hands?”
As I fall down
Smoking in my boxer-briefs
Don’t want no more of your grief
So I force you underneath
Under the covers
My lips they kiss you cool
Get me feeling like a fool
Baby there just ain’t no rules
When we are lovers
Running water at the sink
Splash my eyes, take a drink
Get a little dizzy and I think
“What has become of my hands?”
As I fall down
Falling Down
Tried to rip up your heart tonight
Gave my words an extra bite
Saw you curl up with fright
As I wound to strike you
But we made love just yesterday
Wonder if you’re just for play
Remember you touch my face and say
