A funeral is just another silly superstitious ritual that people are slowly abandoning.

wow - that is some cold hearted shit - funerals or memorials are for the living - to provide a venue to pay respect - honor friendships and relationships - and mourn losses - if it's being abandoned then it is only by the self absorbed

People never ask how many people cared about the funeral corpses while they were still alive: "showing your respects" at the funeral is usually presenting the respects of the attendants to themselves, but people who are truly honest and loving with their dead dear ones usually take the social gesture for the same honest and caring act, and call you miserable when you present to them a reality that they are too decent to conceive, and too naive to accept.

Apart from that, it is rather disparaging, even if unwillingly, to naively refer to porn stars as some sort of tight closed ghetto society in which everybody must know everybody else, and either be really close to each other, or then be some sort of miserable, cold hearted loner or better-than-thou: it's talking about porn stars as if they were branded outcasts... I wonder how often people are honestly wondering, for example, whether there are people attending lawyer's funerals, and whether judges, paralegals, prosecutors, rival attorneys... attend their funerals.

I just read that one of my idols in porn, Macanao Torres, took his own life on December 29th.
