Maybe by election in 2016 we can just give the Presidency to Hillary. There won't be any GOP left.

Another Republican Switches To The Democratic Party

by Egberto Willies

A few weeks ago Texas Republican Judge Carlo R. Key decided to leave the Republicans Party. He pulled no punches when he left. He left with a stinging indictment of the party.

--snip--

Jason Thigpen told the NewsObserver that the Tea Party push for a government shutdown precipitated his switch. He said,

I simply cannot stand with a party where its most extreme element promote hate and division amongst people,” Thigpen said in a statement posted to his campaign website Thursday. “Nothing about my platform has, nor will it change. The government shutdown was simply the straw that broke the camels back. I guess being an American just isn’t good enough anymore and I refuse to be part of an extremist movement in the GOP that only appears to thrive on fear and hate mongering of anyone and everyone who doesn’t walk their line.

Of course the republican teabaggers will demonize him as a traitor and a RINO, conduct a character assassination via Fox News and pat themselves on the back for getting rid of another traditionalist in their ranks of no-compromise losers.

He didn't leave the republican party, the republican party left him.

I have been wondering for a long time now why the moderate Republicans haven't figured out that the Democrats are now closer to the Republican Party than the Teabag Nation and the Koch Boys.

There will be more.

The way Bob Dole was treated when he spoke to Congress favoring background checks for potential gun owners was a disgrace. It's no wonder that Susan Collins (D. Maine) quit.

Comparing Pres. Obama to the late Pres. Eisenhower wouldn't be too much of a stretch (both being left-of-center). Fuck the teabagger propaganda accusing Pres. Obama of being a socialist or a Communist.

Not to mention the soldier being BOOED when asking about gay issues in the military, the incredible cheerfest when Rick Perry was introduced as having executed more death row inmates than any other governor ever, some Republicans trying to bring murder raps against women with miscarriages, etc.

When will the Republicans wise up? The way they're going, they'll end up making this a one-party system, and they won't be the party.

When will the Republicans wise up?
To quote the late, great U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Adlai Stevenson... "when hell freezes over."

The way they're going, they'll end up making this a one-party system, and they won't be the party.
Effective democracies function best when there is a two-party system. But then, why would Republicons want a well-functioning government?

Its raining at my house, or to put it another way... a way republicans might understand....

God is weeping tears of joy at the slow painful demise of the republican party.

:D

Fifteenth Republican Incumbent Quits House - Rep. Howard Coble

"Barely a day goes by without another Republican jumping ship from Speaker John Boehner's disastrous Republican Congress - because House Republicans aren't giving up their reckless behavior and focusing on the right priorities like creating jobs," Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Executive Director Kelly Ward wrote in a statement after Coble announced his retirement. "With another fiscal showdown just a few months away, House Republicans are losing their appetite for the irresponsible Tea Party agenda and are unwilling to defend it to the American people next year."
So much for the post-election post mortem. Where's Reince Priebus? I think I might have seen his picture on a half-gallon milk carton.

As much I would love to see Hillary run and take 2016, she has a huge uphill battle especially if Christie would be her opponent.

Polls show her beating him. Regardless he's unlikely to get the nomination. Most likely it'll be Rubio.

I contend that a two-party system is not democracy, because most of the people end up not represented.

FOUR DEAD AMERICANS!!

BENGHAZI!!
(Me and Rolyo87...this must be some kind of Illinois thing, haha.)

No, more likely Rand Paul. Will Rick Santorum possibly even get back into the (frothy) political mix in 2016? The plagiarism scandal will be long since forgotten by then, because Democrats are awful about effectively getting such messages out, and the Republicans sure as hell won't mention it much after 2013.

I have little doubt that Chris Christie, if he runs, will be Primaried.

Hilary's favorability rating is sinking. If it comes down to a choice between Clinton or Warren, Warren should crush Clinton mostly due to the GOP slandering of Benghazi.
