On-Topic Another School Shooting: Taft, California

Well this one will certainly make the Biden hearings more focussed and relevant.

And this time, the media have a live shooter to focus on.

I'm surprised we haven't heard the theory yet that the government is arranging these staged shootings on purpose as an excuse to confiscate guns. I've certainly heard it offline.

This shooting is a bit different. Based on the account of what occurred, this student went to the school with the intention of shooting two classmates, and no one else. I suspect an investigation will reveal bullying to be the cause.

Agree.

This seemed far more like premeditated murder of particular individuals than "kill em' all".

Yes, it falls under school shootings and still is tragic.

This case is indeed different then the normal school shootings. This teenager went with the intent to target a couple of different individuals.
I'll also say this, the shooter was able to be taken down without a single shot being fired. I have no doubt if rambo the teacher had tried to stop it,it would have been worse.

Nope. Don't need it.

It is exactly what the pro-gun lobby must have feared the most. An event that would put the issue back in the laser sights of everyone this week and keep the discussion from being bogged down in abstractions and irrelevancies.

Although, it is interesting that the gun apologists are already going with the spin that because this kid was only targeting specific classmates that somehow....well...it is a different case. Somehow not as horrific as Sandy Hook. By getting it linked to bullying or something like that narrative...they can make it seem more sympathetic somehow.

Expect the NRA to assert the need for every teacher to pack heat.

Considering that you aren't exposed to the media in the US on a consistent basis, I'm not surprised you don't understand that this topic has never LEFT the discussion since Sandy Hook happened. It has been on the national news every night, on local news every night, and in all the newspapers. You were proven wrong in the other thread, and have now brought it in here. You would be wise to stop while you're ahead.
