I should have done when I was sexually active; but when I was sexually active I was also drunk most of the time... so "responsibility" wasn't one of my chief qualities.

No symptoms have turned up since the last time I had sex (I didn't stop having sex because I stopped drinking, it just happened to work out that way) about twelve years ago, so I haven't seen any need to get tested.

If I ever suspect that I'm going to become sexually active, I'll certainly go in for a make-sure look-see beforehand.
