I dunno, tbh. I like your hair. Maybe I'll just run my fingers through it instead.
By all means do Lilbit. So yeah, about a cut of those profits?
That's a very good question!
I'd say I learned it mostly from old movies... Fred Astaire was an early childhood hero of mine, not to mention Cary Grant, William Powell, Clark Gable, all those hat-wearing, shiny-shod, crisp shirt-and-necktie leading men.
And of course, I love period costume, movies set in the 18th and 19th centuries as well as the nineteen-twenties and -thirties. I watch period movies every chance I get, and the styles of the past inform the way I adapt modern clothes... and of course, I love throwing in a costume piece into an outfit, like riding boots or an ascot or something.
My more immediate inspiration was my grandfather, who was a very snappy dresser, and who taught me how to brilliantine my hair, tie a necktie (three different ways) and a bowtie, how to shine my shoes, how to button or link my cuffs, all the gentlemanly arts. I wish I had a picture of him to show you, but my scanner's broken.
My grandfather was quite the dapper man himself. So you must have quite the varied wardrobe.
Do you have a favourite outfit? Any pictures?
