Can anyone recommend a good, cheap easy to use anti virus softwear. I somehow have downnloaded a virus and want to get it off....

Thx.

A third vote for Avast from me. The domestic (rather than commercial) version is free and was recommended to me by a highly IT literate friend.

I also use Avast, recommended by techie friends.

Thanks for your your suggestions.

I'm downloading Avast now, I'll give it a try and see how I go.

Okie dokie, I need your help again.

I downloaded Avast and ran the set up, everything is fine.

Now when I go to open the program a box pops up saying The application had failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail.

What the hell does that mean?

Did you restart your computer when you installed it? Seems that solved the problem on the forum.

I re-started the computer and it still didn't work. I ended up downloading AVG and that seemed to do the trick.

Thanks for your help guys.

:)
