^ or Fire ants. They have stingers.

Fire ants are nasty little bastards. Crazy Ants are so bad that they kill off the fire ants. They also have habit of swarming by the millions killing off other animals and insects in their path. They can get into your car to hitchhike their way into your garage then into your house.

I'm assuming they don't do this regularly or else they wouldn't still be confined to the southern US coast.

Like most awful invasive species, they seem to have come from south Asia into the ports in North America and South America on the west coast and the Gulf of Mexico.

Crazy ants are in South America, Central America, California and from Texas to Florida and up into the Carolinas. Because they travel in shipping containers, they have made their way to urban areas in NY and Massachusetts.
