Any 4ttorneys on here think this is a good idea?

Re: Any attorneys on here think this is a good idea?

I'm not a lawyer because I have a soul but thanks to the internet I'm already an ordained minister and a licensed therapist.

Actually, no..I argued with a supermarket clerk over the price of canned pumpkin tho other day so I guess I'm a lawyer now, too.

Re: Any attorneys on here think this is a good idea?

I'm not a lawyer either, but personally, I've never considered the examination process in general to be a particularly sound way to assess someone's grasp of knowledge in a subject. So much of it involves short-term memory storage following means-to-an-end revision- often done in panic, cramming mode (which the teachers themselves were not above encouraging). I know for a fact that there have been things I committed to memory solely for the purpose of aiming to get through an exam- the knowledge of which I have not retained since and have yet to encounter the triggers that might uncover the potentially long-dormant remnants of such facts and figures; and therefore I don't consider myself any better-educated as a consequence.

More woke (or is it "Woke"?) madness--and speaking of madness, our insanely litigious society has too many lawyers already, many of them parasites making life and doing business more difficult for the rest of us. Will just open the door for more grifters of one sort or another.

I wouldn't be surprised if Oregon next tried it with physicians.

Re: Any attorneys on here think this is a good idea?

Spent two years in law school before running out of money to finish. It is a bad idea, a race to the bottom. Sort of like how anyone can now be a substitute teacher in my state, even bus drivers and janitors.

Re: Any attorneys on here think this is a good idea?

Just what we need, lower the standards and let more extremist "alternatives" into the legal system. Alternative educational paths seem like a good idea, but you should still have to pass the established licensing exams to prove you are competent. You would not give someone their first drivers license based solely on their "experience and supervision", would you?

This isn't "woke," woke is a black people/women civil rights thing this sounds like some rich entitled white person's kid has failed the bar 70x so they lobbied and pulled strings to have the golden doors to privilege reinforced for their child' convenience. I'm not one to point elbows but Kim Kardashian failed the bar so maybe this is all just part of her storyline for next season. cuz the law works much faster for the problematic and wealthy than it does for the disadvantaged. to poor people who can't afford law school this means nothing.

OP link leads to nonexistent page. Here is an alternative article.

Edit.

I don't have a dog in this fight. Other than my lawyer, no one in my life does anything in law.

That said, I have never liked tests. There has got to be a better way to evaluate a person's knowledge and understanding other than tests.

Kim failed the "Baby Bar" a few times but finally passed. Kim discusses this and other matters in an interview with Bari Weiss. She comes across as quite likeable:

Her popularity portends the breakdown of society.

^ She can always get hired on Trump's team. 'All the best people' dontcha know.

This is the stupidest fucking thingI have ever heard of! Now you don't need to pass the bar?! What's next becoming a surgeon without medical school residency attending and specialty training?! Fine I'm a brain surgeon my fee is 500 per hour!
