Any bug people know what this is?

How do so many of them get into your houses? We have them here too but I can't remember an entire flock of them ever being able to infiltrate the house in one go.

Not a whole lot end up inside...
Some I have no idea how they make it in.
Others its fairly easy - they also seem to like to collect in that spot where the door meets the frame, open the door & while they'll usually just fly away, sometimes they end up going the wrong way - inside. (this probably being the most common way)
Also just had them fly straight inside, when I have the door open to go in or out...usually go right for the nearest light LOL

Reminds me of how we used to open the patio door a little to let moths in, attracted to a lantern on the floor, for the purpose of letting my brother's cat pounce on them.

Well, it turns out that they were cocoons and resulted in tiny little moths which entertained the cats for hours. They were small, but they were faster than Boots' and Samwise's paws for the most part.

^ I haven't seen any of the 'bugs' or the moths for a few days now. I guess they have run their course.

I'd be cautious. It could be communicating with your new hip.

They look like the cocoon of a moth larva to me. If you've had small moths in your house, you'll find these under your bed if you have carpetted areas or in your closets and wardrobes.
