Any Law & Order Fans Out There

Any thoughts on Det. Beauty Queen? Van Buren was great in tonight's ep.

BTW, the cast is on Inside the Actor's Studio this week

The premier just ended. **SPOILERS FOR THE WEST COAST**

I think the new detective is cool. They've never had a female before. I was disturbed that there was absolutely no mention of Borgia's murder and why Rubirosa was there. Also, what happened with the whole thing about Jack being in trouble for what he did while prosecuting Alex's killers? It's like they forgot to finish what happened in the finale last season.

I don't really watch much TV, but I watch Law and Order SVU and it's a pretty good show.

Yeah. What happened to Fontana? Did I miss something? The new ADA is okay. I liked Borgia better though. But I'm sure over time I'll get used to her and warm up.

***Another Spoiler***
What's up with McCoy having a daughter? Especially one that he hasn't spoken to in 9 years. How crazy is that. The man has issues. The original L&O doesn't usually delve to deep in the personal lives of the characters like SVU does. So I'm wondering if they are going to start working on that more.

i didn't see it but i remember something about mccoy having a daughter from years ago so they didn't just pull that outta their ass...and fontana is gone? wtf???

I believe the chief had a throwaway line about Fontana retiring, while talking to the new detective

I don't think they'll start doing more personal stuff. They tried that a number of seasons ago: Jamie Ross' custody, Lennie's daughter's murder, Rey's wife's MS, and Van Buren's discrimination law suit (not to mention Schiff's re-election woes).
Apparantly fans didn't like this which is why Wolf went back to the strict no character all story format. Look for the character development to disappear as of the next ep.

BTW, doctorsun, I get the impression that this episode is supposed to have taken place a bit after the Borgia storyline, hence the retirement of Fontana. It didn't seem like it was a sudden thing. Also, Jack called his assistant by her first name as soon as she appears meaning they've probably worked together a bit.

yeah...that sounds like a cop out...i wonder why dennis farina left? probably money. and speaking of adam schiff...god do i miss him...he was great too. he was such a poltician...loved how he always gave mccoy shit for doing his job when he had a "sensitive" case...

Yeah, I miss him too. He hated it when McCoy disobeyed him or did something a bit outrageous, but he never could fire him or let him resign because McCoy always won and never got him in trouble for it.

I read, somewhere, that TNT is thinking about buying the franchise (or at least part of it) and moving it to cable.

Cool i watch the reruns on Cable everyday. it is all new to me since I spent most of the years that the new episodes arrived out of the country.

I like SVU and CI the best the older and newer ones aren't so hot to me. I love how they take current issues and mimic the news and then throw in their own political take on big issues. It has developed many conversations about the law, life, death and other thing that me and my BF have talked about. i tis anice way to end the evening.

When talking to friends about the L&O franchise, it's always a matter of which you like best: SVU or the original. The only thing I can be sure of is that they HATE CI. I don't think it's the stories, it's just everybody seems to hate the hamminess of Voncent D'Onofrio. This guy chews every bit of scenery that isn't nailed down. No wonder they brought Chris Noth in. And, btw, what idiot made the decision to can Dennis Farina for that bland woman on there now?

Dennis Farina was horrible. I'm glad he's gone.

That being said, "Det. Beauty Queen" really is bland. They should've put Logan back on L&O. I think he and Green would work well together.

Unfortunately, I think last Friday's episode proves things are getting stale.

Tonight's episode was much better! Yeah! Jack is such a bastard! I love it!

i agree i hope they keep it

It's confirmed: the original is back (!!!), but CI is in a sort of limbo.

Tuesday's SVU was a nightmare in terms of plot and story though. But hey, at least neither Benson nor Stabler freaked out on someone. How refreshing.

CI is going to return and new episodes will air on USA Network. Then, NBC will show re-airings of them on Saturday nights. CI was my least favorite of the three. I only watch it when Chris Noth is on.

I thought tonight's episode was great. Both the new "babes" sort of stepped out of their beauty salons and showed some grit. I was particularly impressed with the Connie character stabbing the knife in the closing. She's really learned from Jack.

Plus, Harry Hamlin was looking pretty rough a while back, but he looked pretty good tonight.

I was waiting for the judge to have an "emotional moment" while she was killing the book.

Here in Croatia L&O SVU (how you call it) is very popular but it's hard to me to say what season we watch now. Tonight episode was named STRAIN.It happens in shoe store, victim is gay Robin Weller, above him is killers name.
By the way, on ISOHunt you can download whole 7th season.
