I have a sneaking suspicion this modern take on Biblical Gospel is going to involve an impaling rather than a crucifixion.

I'm not offended by it. Instead, my imagination is taking over - perhaps it's a depiction from a secret and long omitted part of the Bible, where the Devil came down and offered 'temptation' and 'lust' or something like that. :-<

See, if an artwork's purpose is to 'provoke thought' then this achieves it.

As for offending people, well, the radical fundamentalists offend me every day, so I don't see why it can't work both ways.

Now, we need a 'Da Vinci Code' style investigation about where these secret texts are hidden. (!)

That's not Spock, that's Mr Tumnus.

LOL! Mr. Tumnus was a sweet, kindly and innocent faun who gave Lucy tea and cakes. I don't think he'd be involved in something like this.

So, does Jesus work out at the SoMa Gold's Gym, too?

The Jesus caricature has clearly been working out; whereas the touching left hand of the devilishly good looking fellow suggests he is much gentler than his imagery would at first convey.

On a psychological level the caricatures might well speak to the human need for consolation during periods of suffering, when evil appears to be an appealing distraction to alleviate our distress.

that's one funny photo. is there more particularly the one where they're having sex? but who do you guys think would be the top or the bottom? my vote would be jesus being the bottom and the devil being the top.

Why does it offend you?

Because I don't think it's right to make fun of spiritual beings like this. Some of my friends and family are spiritual and I feel like it is just mocking all of their beliefs. Not cool...

^Why is depicting them in a gay kiss "making fun" of them?

It's not the gay kiss that bugs me. It's the fact that it's Jesus kissing Satan, no? At least that's how I interpreted it... That definitely seems to be mocking Christianity.

A few years ago forensic anthropologists released a picture of what they think Jesus really looked like:

I think it's great. They could both do with a little hair on their chests, though..

Exactly! ^ ..|

Spock needs to see a doctor about getting the horns removed

Proof that Vulcans do get horny

and Ensign Crusher finally got past puberty.

It appears to be controversial for the sake of being controversial, imo. Which is just old. Am I offended though? Nope.

So...Mr. Tumnus is having an affair with an adult Peter Pevensie?
